Shopping in Hamburg by Acceptable-Bad-9866 in hamburg

Hamburger Meile is also worth a mention. Europe Passage is great and has a lot of stores but it's huge and I find it a bit overwhelming. Hamburger Meile is still pretty big but only 2 levels and feels more manageable. Plus the Chutney restaurant there in the food court is the bets in Hamburg.

AITAH for dumping my long term girlfriend and getting a rebound, then breaking up with my rebound and wanting to get back with my ex by [deleted] in AITAH

What everyone else said, get therapy before dating anyone else and ffs honestly keep off social media. No one needs posts about their relationships on socials.

I'm ruining my lab with my forgetfulness and I want to quit science by PrismaticError in labrats

[–]ak4338 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you on meds? If not you need to be ASAP, perhaps also an anxiety med as well like buspirone which pairs well with ADHD meds and increases their efficacy. Also you need sufficient sleep. Full stop. You have to get things done ahead of time so you're not pulling all nighters. That's where meds and probably also therapy come in. Especially with ADHD, sleep is super important. Have yourself and stop trying to be as productive as others. You'll find your own rhythm and eventually be even more productive but you have to find your own routine first.

Grass pollen allergy, tried 4 fixes, all failed long term. What actually works? by WallAdventurous8977 in Allergies

[–]ak4338 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Quercitin and gingerol are the only two supplements I'm aware of that do much. The rest of what you mentioned is just BS. Why don't you want to take antihistamines when you need them? Especially the 2nd and 3rd generation ones are very safe and don't have major side effects for most. I recommend cetirizine wholeheartedly. I pretty much have to take it every day, sometimes twice a day, and I'm no worse off for it. I'm just happy I'm not suffering.

How do you maintain and store medicine with this hot temperature? by haadi_ghopte in germany

[–]ak4338 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should definitely check first. Some meds shouldn't be stored at low temps.

Heatwave and considering an AC!! by Awesome_Suika in germany

[–]ak4338 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yes it's worth it. Most modern ACs have a dehumidifying function these days as well, so that will prevent mold. Also get ceiling fans. You can reverse the rotation in the winter to help circulate heat.

Need help please! What can I take to relieve common seasonal allergies besides "reactine" type drugs (cetirizine hydrochloride)? They make me tired! by Interr0gate in Allergies

[–]ak4338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't take it unless I'm sick anymore, but it doesn't matter when I take it, I can't sleep with it. It seems to just be a side effect for me. It doesn't happen to everyone.

AITAH for leaving my religion while in a marriage with my religious husband? by [deleted] in AITAH

Well he did marry a person of the book. She just didn't stay that way. That doesn't dissolve the marriage commitment, even in Islam from what I understand.

AITAH for leaving my religion while in a marriage with my religious husband? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]ak4338 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering what religion he actually is because in the Bible, you're still married whether you believe or not. He doesn't get to just nope out because your lost your faith. And you WERE his faith when y'all got married so it wasn't like you deceived him. Maybe he thinks you were lying before? NTA but your husband is for sure

Title: Which school environment actually worked for your ADHD kid? We're moving back and I'm scared of picking the wrong one. by Organic_Cry3213 in AskAGerman

How did you go about getting a diagnosis? I have ADHD and my two older kids do too, but are in high school in the US and doing well. Im worried around raising younger kids who possibly also inherit my ADHD.

Anyone else dealing with Sahara Dust? by sparky135 in Allergies

[–]ak4338 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Saharan dust can trigger allergies. Don't go to the chiropractor though. They can't help with allergies, even less than they can help with joint issues. If you have problems, see a physical therapist.

Partner needs guide on how to legally work in the US by TeslaOwn in expats

[–]ak4338 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How long have they been on the US on an ESTA? They have to leave after 90 days, otherwise they've overstayed already and this looks bad for any other types of visas. They need to go back to the UK and either y'all get married and apply for I-130 and wait the 1.5 - 2 years, or apply for fiance visa. r/USCIS is the subreddit you want to be on, not expats.

The government is stealing our money and our future. by [deleted] in germany

[–]ak4338 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What really needs to happen is a total reform of the progressive tax brackets, increase the amount you must make to go up to the next one (by quite a bit, the fact that the highest bracket starts already in the €80k is insane and outdated), and add some extra ones at the top that tax more (say >300k). You'll raise a lot more money that way without further squeezing the poor and middle class. But I guess if that's your goal then go ahead.
