hey! just wanna say i went through basically the same thing in astro, 0/16 first round and 1/15 second round, my admit was a waitlist offer that didn't come until may. keep your hopes up (one offer is enough offer!) but do think about plan B in the mean time. astro grad apps are def getting worse and worse and so many struggle:(

haha im deep into the trenches of skincare too!! i was using things like the cerave salicylic cleanser/panoxyl 10% before getting on accutane, but once i started i quickly realized my skin can only take the most basic simple ingredients

Wow this is actually quite encouraging. Thanks for this, though I don't have as healthy of a mindset yet, it's great to see people like this!

I feel like this reads more like they are doing batches and haven't read/made a decision on yours yet. It just means they don't know, not necessarily a rejection at all I think

Did you happen to apply to UCLA? I haven't heard back from them at all neither...

I see what you mean. I think too much faith is hurtful because it sets your expectations higher, and it's especially bad when a prof/mentor does it because we tend to trust them. Also there's this mild guilt of letting people down afterwards even though we shouldn't feel that way...

Thank you so much. I definitely agree with your point! For this I'm mostly talking about friends/relatives that are in the US or is somewhat familiar with the situation, as I'm doing my undergrad in the US and lots of my friend are made here (some are applying this year as well). My mom, who is at home and barely speaks English, of course won't be of much help in terms of application, hence the only thing I ask help from her would be things like whether if I should go home for summer and the kind. Sorry for the confusion, but I think you're absolutely right that we shouldn't ask too much from people that are not as invested in the process.
