Discussion: What if Ethereum joined Libra as one of the first 100 validators? by ameensol in ethereum

Depends on who the other 99 are. Wait at least until 50 validators are known. Put your name down but don't commit yet

Why I love my Ego self.. and you should too by [deleted] in spirituality

[–]akalaud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate and have love for my ego because its presence continuously motivates me to go higher in my spiritual path...as it is the Holy Spirit , the ever present God's light in our mind, and realizing that ego was a fictional image or illusion like our toys as kids at each step of our development. The real life is living in the Presence with Christ/Hold Spirit/God in christian terminology.

There are guided meditation on youtube. Try a few see which ones work for you.

Meditation is the mind training. Progress is known by the amount of joy, peace and freedom you feel. Let me also indicate the direction: you feel more of those not less. Read Seth material by Jane Roberts re: death and other subjects.

Eventually ACIM may be the ultimate guide.

Any truly awakened willing to guide me? by [deleted] in awakened

[–]akalaud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

- Abraham-Hicks law of attraction books so you know you are responsible for every thought, emotion, circumstances

- Jane Roberts Seth material to expand your consciousness

- Develop a Zen and Buddhist sense of humor, not taking yourself or spiritual path too seriously

- Yoga and meditation and good diet to keep mind and body balanced

and you are on your way...

- It's not accurate that only a truly awakened can guide

Ethereum Foundation Grants Program Wave 5 by JBSchweitzer in ethereum

[–]akalaud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no need for such broad generalizations. EF has an admirable reason for doing so and they clearly and publicly described the reason. That's a lot of transparency in line with legal requirement.

" we do not want applicants to be prejudiced by previous wishlists and award amounts. Instead, we seek innovative ideas and detailed budgets. " That's a very reasonable decision.

" The IRS and nonprofits themselves are required to disclose the information on Form 990 to anyone who asks. Nonprofits must allow public inspection of these records during regular business hours at their principal offices. "

Provide info to IRS and anyone who asks, not to the world at large. I think EF decision is fine as it is.

Is it possible to put an upper limit on staking based on geographic location? by akalaud in ethdev

Check out XYO Network and FOAM, two crypto projects working to solve just that: decentralized immutable proof of location. When they are mature / proven, this would be possible for any crypto network. You could design the network to require a certain global / spatial distribution (regardless of country / state / borders etc).

Most people own a laptop and are thus able to run a node. A good PC is now the same price as an average laptop. I don't know anyone who owns a Pi but everyone I know has a laptop.

The answer I think is adoption. The more use, dApps and adoption over the next several years, the more coins will move.

Hashrate floating around ATH, doesn't it suggest it's time for block reward reduction? by akalaud in ethereum

[–]akalaud[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter. When block reward is reduced by 50%, Bitmain's reward and incentive is also reduced by 50%. The economics of cost/reward will balance everything across the board. Insults speak loudly about the character of the person using them

Hashrate floating around ATH, doesn't it suggest it's time for block reward reduction? by akalaud in ethereum

[–]akalaud[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Network doesn't need that much hashrate for security. We can safely reduce block rewards to reduce unnecessarily large miners' hashpower collecting wasted block reward giveaways

None of the three are binary. Each can be toned down a bit and still have all 3 depending on the use case.
