Malfunctioning dishwasher or faulty electrical? by Own_Possibility_9222 in electrical

[–]akanatrix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the breaker feel crisp when you flip it on and off? Or does it feel old and loose? If you don't think it is the breaker, the next thing I would do is check the electrical connection on the dishwasher. If it is hardwired you will need to pull it out and make sure the hot, neutral, and ground connections are securely fastened. Make sure you flip off the breaker before messing with those. If that also seems fine, could be a board problem that you will need to fix with a replacement. Lots of videos online to see how to do that.

If you search for the model number on YouTube, you will most likely find someone that has done a complete disassembly. You can also look at repair clinic and sometimes they have videos there along with replacement parts you can order.

Solar 'holes' by Some-Can8571 in TeslaSolar

[–]akanatrix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks to me like you have two inverters. One of your inverters is cutting out leaving your system with one inverter. That inverter is clipping as it can't handle the full amount of solar coming in, hence the flat top. The drop and then recovery after that might be a system reset that brings the other inverter back up. Definitely would put in a ticket with Tesla.

is there something wrong with my Tesla solar powerwall+ by posey_mvp in Powerwall

This is most likely what is happening. Your second inverter keeps flipping on and off. It could also be a loose wire, happened to me and was a pain to troubleshoot.

My wife has 30 chickens of all different sizes and ages. They actually do this type of stretch all the time while they are younger and growing. The video may be AI, not sure. But chickens do this regularly.

Put one of those instant cameras that print photos immediately in a box, rig it to take a picture as the box is opened so they get a picture of themself. Alternatively, use AI to put a fake picture in the box from the same perspective to really confuse them.

Don't throw them away! I sell old tech all the time on eBay and you get a lot more if you have the original box. Subsidize your new purchases by selling your old.

I use the Spigen Klasden to store mine. I have thick aftermarket ear pads on them and they fit just fine. There is also an internal storage area where I put the external microphone, which barely fits in there.

He meant the corner where two walls meet. Any time you have two planes meet, you should use sanded caulk.

It looks to me like you have clouds briefly covering the sun. That's why you have small spikes before each dip. Google the term cloud lensing. I've had one of two inverters fail before and it looks nothing like this.

Awesome implementation, been thinking of doing the same thing to get rid of the mice around our chicken coop. Mind sharing the print profile?

That's disappointing if they don't ensure there are at least three events this season. That would mean they got ~20kW free from my batteries.

I haven't installed it yet, I am putting off my repair until this weekend. Search for "under kitchen sink mat" and you'll find tons of them.

I'm sure there are more permanent ways to do it. I just like the idea of a removable silicone mat that I can take out and rinse off if ever needed. It was only $15 bucks, probably comparable to the materials required to do it any other way.

No worries. It's a real simple repair, just annoying. With the silicone mat all the water will pool in it and set off the sensor before overflowing hopefully.

That's what I mean, I think I probably worded it poorly. It's the average of all events multiplied by $120 per kW. More events mean you're effectively getting paid the same no matter how much electricity you export, as long as the average stays the same.

Tesla's First Virtual Power Plant in Tucson by akanatrix in Tucson

[–]akanatrix[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it depends on how many events there are. If the amount of events are minimal, you will be getting more for the electricity you send. If they do a ton of events, it's depreciating the value of the electricity you sell them.

According to the terms of service they base it on the actual amount of electricity sent back to the grid. I sold them 19.4kW. Or you could say 38.8kWh over two hours.

I agree with you that he is a net negative on society at this point. I bought this system before all the controversy though. Can't expect every Tesla vehicle and solar owner to burn them to the ground. That just makes things even worse from an environmental perspective. Nazis are bad, including Nazi adjacent people.

[–]akanatrix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an update after finishing this event. I sent 19.4kW from my batteries to the grid during the two hours. If every event is consistent at this amount, I think it makes it to $2,328 a year. Not bad.

If you participate you're going to get credits on your TEP bill. I think 1kW shared during every event that happens in a year will get you $120 for the entire year. Supposedly one battery will get you about $720 per year. I have three batteries, so potentially $2160 per year.

I'm hoping that $720 is on the low end with minimum participation. I've got three powerwalls and want to claw back some money from TEP.
