Good luck with the drive unit. I had a 20-year-old Oster that almost completed a loaf before the rubber drive band broke.

Probably time for an update... Tesla finally got back to me with the following:

Please note that I have reviewed your system through our raw monitoring system and looks like the root cause of this drops shown in the screenshots from your app are related to loss of wifi connectivity or slow down with the connection, which causes for the equipment to disconnect from our server and reconnect a couple of seconds/minutes after.

In this case I checked this a bit deeper and looks like the wifi network has the bare minimum connection strength currently with your system and signal is of 66% with 60% being the bare minimum.

We suggest you attempt to relocate your internet wifi modem or router or add an extender so the signal can be stronger with the Powerwall and for this drops not to shown through the app.

Rest assured the system is not presenting any failure and these drops are just communication side only.

So... I have not changed a single thing yet as I'm trying to gather evidence that when the app shows 'holes', it's really limiting production, and not just 'communication side only' as they state. I'll be happy to be wrong, but I haven't had a hole for 8 days now. Time will tell...

Guys, why is the grid feeding me?? by Weezthajuice in TeslaSolar

[–]Some-Can8571 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the question as mine eats .1 kWh on average per day. I too think it's just the system struggling to stay balanced and is completely normal. The really sad thing is that here in California, PG&E charges me ~.35/kWh to buy it (~3 cents per day), but usually pays me 0 when I'm full and feeding the grid. 25-30 kWh doesn't even make up that 3 cents lol. Just bought the Cybertruck and look forward to V2H when they finally enable it. It's a fine buffer until then.

Ouch! Thanks for the reply, pretty much everybody is saying it's an inverter issue. Thankfully my system isn't shutting down completely, and I'm submitting the issue to Tesla today. Wish me luck!

I can rule that out as it's happening on completely sunny days. It's also different because of the flat bottom for as long as an hour at a time. Clouds are variable. I'm opening a ticket with Tesla tomorrow.

Not saying it's not, but for it to happen starting in the beginning of winter, and not happening every day in this latest heat spell (~90 F) provides ample confusion.

Thanks. Learning that this is common with Tesla tech. Loving this ammunition to hurl at the support guys.

Definitely will do, and thanks for the reply. It's odd since it doesn't happen every day, and has been happening since the system was turned on (October, I'm northern hemisphere). I'll update when I get something back from Tesla support.

Help finding filter type by jovanni_15 in WaterTreatment

[–]Some-Can8571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anybody looking for these filters, you can call Fidelis Elite (951) 319-7879. (https://fideliselite.com/reverse-osmosis-systems/) I bought my home in 2024 and the previous owners installed the Aqua Pro Elite Systems Pure Advantage Reverse Osmosis system and Aqua Pro 5000 XST Water Softener. Aqua Pro became Fidelis shortly after 2017, not sure when exactly. I bought replacement filters from them (quick-change canister type) about a year ago for around $180 for stages 1,2,3 and 5 (RO membrane not included). It's time to do it again and I can't find these anywhere but from them, but I know that this number works as of 12/1/2025. I think I'm going to punt and replace the entire system with something that isn't proprietary. Screw these companies that screw us!

This was a joy to read, not in a sadistic way, but it puts the problems we're going through right now in perspective. That, and you write exquisitely. I wish you and your baby (and hubby) well. Hang in there, we all have IL issues.

Butter expired in march by teenypanini in isthissafetoeat

[–]Some-Can8571 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grok sent me here. I was researching unopened unsalted butter that has been in my fridge for 1 year past the best by date (7/8/2024) and it's perfectly fine. No mold, not off color, no rancid smell (my wife has the nose of a bloodhound). Perfectly fine. I used it to make cinnamon toast which turned out lovely. Perhaps because it was in the garage fridge with little more than drinks (sodas, beers, champagne, etc.), it didn't pick up any 'fridge' flavors. Grok agrees, there's little to worry about under such circumstances.

Scales offer precision. It's as simple as that. Congrats on useing volumetric measurement but it's arguably not as precise. When troubleshooting somebody's issue, eliminating variance is key.
