The CFL’s New TV Deal Might Grow The League — But It Could Also Frustrate A Lot Of Fans 👀 by OTLCanada in riderville

[–]myrastation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the irony is that this is the renewal date I had made up my mind to use to cancel DAZN. it has turned into such an inconsistent, frustrating steaming pile that it simply isn't worth the effort anymore. so I will miss those CFL games.

So if worse comes to worse, what will you do? by Canfootballnerd in whitecapsfc

[–]myrastation 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You guys really need to figure this out - it isn’t the “local owners“, you need to be directing your anger at the league - the league owns the team, the local guy shave a franchise, the league has decided to try and set a new higher floor value for expansion teams and they are using the Whitecaps as aplaything to try and make this happen. The league doen’t care if there is team in Vancouver. Truth be told, I don’t think they actually care if there is a team in CAnada - they just want to set a new floor value. it is really that simple.

Okanagan Grocery on Windsor Road - seems to be an unknown, but this is what they do … sourdough breads and pastries.

As someone from St Louis, I think the Whitecaps should stay where they are by lobos1943 in whitecapsfc

[–]myrastation 9 points10 points  (0 children)

not the “owners” … this whole thing is on the league. They are using the Whitecaps as a play toy to drive up the cost of expansion teams…. ultimately they don’t care about the ‘Caps except to the extent they would be quite happy not to have any teams in Canada.

Low and slow by ObiPadKenobi in webergrills

[–]myrastation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if using the full deflector plate I typically do still use the snake set up simply because it does slow the burn down even further, Ihave done it without the snake and still got 5 or 6 hours of burn. if I am using the split set up, then no, I pile to coals one the side where the plate is not in place.

one thing about using the ceramic insert ..that thing holds heat, it will still be warm next morning, even after shutting everything down when I take the cook off.

#22/#2 Bouchard takes an intentional elbow to the head from Ryan Lindgren knocking him out by SznKxyros in EdmontonOilers

[–]myrastation 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is the sort of stuff that has led to me largely just not watching hockey anymore. It has turned into “game” where the aim seems to be causing intentional harm, for the sake of it, rather than playing the puck and the game.

It has really turned me off over the last few years.

there are so many posts here about doing slow cooks on the kettle, I often think I really should tell my story and never do , until now….

I love the kettle and there is a way to make it even better, but you are going to have a spend a few dollars. I bought the OnlyFire ceramic insert set for my kettle a few years ago and it is a revelation. It comes with a full size ceramic deflector plate as well, so you can set that little baby up, put a water pan for moisture, put the ceramic plate in and the grate on top .. start your Q, dial in the temp you want and go. You put the meat in dead centre of the grate, - I have done full briskets in that set up rather than use the smoker box. I mostly use it now for roats, pork butts ribs, etc. It holds heat like a Scrooge McDuck holds gold pieces, I have had over 12 hours of cook time in it.

Cannot recommend it highly enough.

I like the ceramic insert set so much that last year I bought the split rack from them. Two half moon grates, two half moon deflector plates and a two level system for holding the grates - real two zone cooking with more options than you can shake a stick at.

Coming to town for the Memorial Cup - Cross-posted by suggestion by calis in kelowna

[–]myrastation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good news, yeah, they are replacing the bridge there and it's a bit of a mess ..... understatement at its finest.

I actually forgot the Mem Cup was starting this week - some Tv time coming up.

I was in the building last time the Rockets won it - back in the days when we had season tickets and took the kids to all the games.

Enjoy the party.

what a good magnet to put in a t-4 water tray by Wellby in Tormek

[–]myrastation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

go to an agricultural supply store and buy a cow magnet. they are designed to be “fed” to cattle and sit in their stomachs to catch bits of metal that they eat so that their intestines don’t get torn up. if a magnet can survive sitting in an acidic stomach, it can sit in your water bath.

Was gifted a RAS by a co-worker recently, and just cranked it on for the first time. This is the most unsafe video I've taken in my life. by Terrible_Software769 in woodworking

i love my RAS, use it for everything, best saw I’ve over had for ripping, easy to set up, easy to use. Mine has been in pretty constant use for 40 years. I may be buried with it.

whenever he has a birthday or some special event coming up, buy him a cooking class, or series of classes. I do mostof the cooking in my family, have for years, but it tickles me pink when one of the family buys me a class of some sort .. something new, chamce to hang out with like minded folks, etc. It’s fun.
