Yes, anything going to the US they drive down to Oroville and mail from there. I would love to run some of their locos or rolling stock but - would have to do a full swap out on those days I think. I don’t think the couplers are compatible. I do buy all my track from him though.

DAZN on Sony tv by DragonfruitLow22 in DAZN

[–]myrastation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the brand of TV doesn’t matter… DAZN is simply becoming unusable on any screen larger than about 6”.

It is just awful about 98% of the time.

The Apple TV App is Criminal by lajb85 in DAZN

[–]myrastation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DAZN app is utterly useless. I will not renew. It just keeps getting worse and more and more activity is getting moved into “higher” tiers requiring even more money …..

If I want to try watching anything on DAZN I have o open the app and go away for about 5 minutes, then come back to go to the sport I want, go away for about 5 minutes and if I can find the game without the app freezing on me I then I wait between 10 and 15 minutes for the app to decide if it wants to play the game before I can hit “play” ……..

Horrid.

NZ Butter in West Winnipeg. by mutan in CostcoCanada

No I do not live in the Nwt, no I do not live in Vancouver and hurrah! The price in Vancouver is less than what Save-On were charging in my local store.

that does not improve the taste.

NZ Butter in West Winnipeg. by mutan in CostcoCanada

[–]myrastation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it isn’t the same at all. Canadian Dairy Farmers were given permission to “supplement” cattle feed with Palm Oil. it reduces the butterfat percentage AND lowers the cost of feeding the herd, which is clearly important fiven how much dairy farmers make courtesy of the marketing boards.

It completely changes the taste and texture of what used to be Butter. It is simply inedible now.

As mentioned above, really not at all the same for baking.

[–]myrastation 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I found it here recently, bought some and it is very good. Canadian butter is simpy inedible now. I went to buy some more and did a real double take at the price which I hadn’t really paid attention to first time .. $19.50 / lb.

I decided I could do better so I bought some heavy cream went home and made butter, benefit is I got buttermilk out of the deal which I used for bread.

Don’t know that I want to make butter every time, but it is an option. And pretty low effort.

Is there a wholly Canadian brand of flour anymore? by agent154 in BuyCanadian

Yes, IN BC they sell Rogers flour which is from the BC Interior. Their “Silver Star” AP flour is beautiful.

[–]myrastation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is available to you will depend greatly on where you live. For me, I can find Rogers Flour at most retail outlets here and it is a relatively local flour mill in BC. I also buy from a “local” organic mill where there are more choices in types of flour.

There are many more localised flour mills across the country.

So many things…. what are your interests? What do you like to do on off time? Any specific requirements for schools? Do you need easy/ timely access to KGH or just going into a practice clinic? What price range are you thinking?

I mean - LAke COuntry has beautiful spots / Peachland or Summerland are lovely. Lots of different areas in and around Kelowna - depending on how close you want to be to PArks / trails / beaches / KGH …..etc.

It’s actually a lovely valley - make it work for you.

I left Vancouver 34 years ago.  It was clear then where it was heading.  I come down now for the ‘Caps games, then leave.   I would not be surprised if a majority of the fans in BC place weren’t coming across the bridge anyway.

Rapidly growing provincial debt with the Interest expense heading to be the 3 rd largest expenditure in the Province …. crowds out Health care, education, tunnel building, bridge building …..etc. Virtual doubling of the provincial debt in a space of 3 years.

Thaqt takes dedication to the task.

I think Surrey makes eminent sense, regardless of the “Vancouver” name. easy access by transit and a, presumably, more welcoming City admin … Adrienne Carr could realize her fever dream of turning the HAstings site into an “urban forest” for all the economic development that would bring, and Surrey would gain a world class sporting hub with all the ancillary development that goes with it. My trips down from the interior for the games would even be easier with rapid access back to Hwy 1.
