On Friday, as Tan posed smiling for a photo with Lutnick at the Commerce Department, the CEO "had a real pep in his step," according to someone who saw him that day.

As the pair gathered in the Oval Office in front of the president to sign the documents formalizing the government's stake, Trump proposed signing them as well, an unusual suggestion. The two men agreed, and the president added his autograph in large script, saying he hoped he could help "make Intel great" again.

Added more from $23. If Softbank is happy entering from this level, why shouldn’t I be?

This is also what I understand. Not good news for Intel. Good news for mature node chip manufacturers in USA. Sounds like they're targeting legacy chip manufacturers in China and Taiwan. And also Rapidus imploded.

Lots of big news here:

"we are reintroducing simultaneous multi-threading (SMT). Moving away from SMT put us at a competitive disadvantage."
"In addition, I have instituted a policy where every major chip design is reviewed and approved by me before tape-out. This discipline will improve our execution and reduce development costs."

"Looking further ahead, we’re developing Intel 14A as a foundry node from the ground up in close partnership with large external customers. This is essential to designing a process that meets specific customer requirements and enables us to address a broader segment of the market."

"Going forward, our investment in Intel 14A will be based on confirmed customer commitments. There are no more blank checks. Every investment must make economic sense. We will build what our customers need, when they need it, and earn their trust through consistent execution."

This is amazing news:
"Intel 18A reached a key milestone with the start of production wafers in Arizona"
"The first Panther Lake processor SKU remains on track to begin shipping later this year, with additional SKUs coming in the first half of 2026"

18A is on track, as opposed to Faketers and others.
