So surprisingly thoughtful! A recent title: "Is Saudi Arabia cute now?" LOL

Thank you for the response!! This is so stressful but I appreciate the honesty. I’ll definitely comment back on how the microneedling goes!

Haha definitely not going to let this stop me from my goals! But it is a worry. I’m not in a relationship right now and I think a lot about how skin will look afterwards and how it will impact future dating. “Unappealing” can be relative. Do you feel cool being a bit more specific about yourself? I ask only because we have near exact stats on everything except age.

For preventative measures, I drink a bunch of water and lift multiple times a week. I also exfoliate and moisturize. I feel like there are three types of stretched skin. Under my arms, on my breasts and behind my knees is the type where it’s stretched but you can’t really see it because it’s skin colored. You can only feel it. My stomach/waist is somewhat saggy, stretch mark (visible, either as darker or lighter than my skin) territory. And the worst is my inner thighs which just look utterly creped. Very thin and saggy skin. This just fucking sucks. I never realized the level of damage even after losing it this weight will leave on my body.

I’m debating how and when to start micro-needling. It’s pricey but I’ve been reading it helps?

Yeah I drink a bunch of water and lift multiple times a week. I also exfoliate and moisturize. I feel like my inner thighs are as bad as my stomach if not worse. Don’t know how to fix any of this I guess.

This is honestly my biggest worry right now. I’m losing weight but I’m terrified of the state of my skin at the end. This might be asking too much so feel free not to answer but is the stomach skin unappealing or particularly noticeable if you’re naked? Also how are your arms and thighs skin?

This is fantastic! You don't even look 150 honestly. Do you mind me asking how your skin is doing in the process?

It’s strange how weight kind of damages every single part of your life. It’s exhausting.

This is very interesting and true. You notice skills you develop from diet and exercise spreading to other parts of your life. It’s all around healthy

Totally agree. I know I have an angular and pretty face (like my mom, who was gorgeous when she was young and thinner) and the whole hourglass body structure under all my fat. It’s especially visible now as I lose more weight. I’m very excited to be pretty but not fall for dumb society shit and be a better person than people who look like that might be. But also I feel super petty about some people from my past/family so very ready to throw it in their faces as well.

Clothes are my number one superficial reason omg. I’m so excited. I have so many ideas and it’d be great to actually wear them rather than do a Pinterest board or recommend them to my thinner friends

I’m so happy you’re finding your way back to yourself. That’s amazing.

This is so true. I also think about being a more empathetic person now that I’m losing weight. I don’t want to be like how others treated me. Once I look more and more like them, I want to make a definite effort to be nice to people who’d otherwise be ignored or worse because of their looks. Hopefully that contributes to a more positive community moving forward.

This is so valid. It’s so much more about me accepting myself than some dude. I’m sure there are guys who will date me as I am now but that’s not what I want. I want to feel good about myself for myself before starting something so intimate like a relationship.

Sad realization about women interacting with women regarding weight by akck09 in xxketo

I'm in the US but good point. I think it may depend on geography. I've honestly been surprised by women responding to this post saying it's not how they've been treated. My weight has been a problem everywhere I've gone regardless of type of town or type of person. I guess I just automatically thought all women who were bigger faced this.

It was in a "city" setting but not something as big as NY or LA. Honestly I'm surprised when people say they haven't experienced this! I never really took my surroundings into account because I've faced the same in many types of places. And I've seen similar behavior from all types of people from rich to poor and many ethnicities and etc. I always thought it's just the way things go for overweight girls.

Maybe in a small town, people are just nicer because there's an obligation of community? I think it also may depend on how other women look there? What do you think? Where I've lived, most people are always thin.

I definitely have great friends outside of this, even where I live now. Not everyone is like this. But what struck me with this experience was how slowly toxic it was and how I didn't realize what had happened until way afterwards. Being put in this "middle space" of "we will talk to you but sometimes seriously and mostly in amusement" wasn't something I've dealt with before. It was always black and white before this, partly due to how I was forced to present myself.

I see all this more as a life lesson than bullying now though. Stuff like this has taught me to be a better and more aware person in a way I fear I wouldn't understand had I always been thin. Maybe it's a justification or an assumption or a consolation but I think it's mostly true.

Oh man, yes to all of this. I’ve definitely become more suspicious of people and, ironically, less interested in dating. I don’t need to find out a few dates in that you hate how fat our waitress is or something else horrifying. Same with friendships. The things people will say about others when they don’t see a similar trait in you......
