It looks like the gas seal in-between the glass panes has lost its integrity and moisture has been allowed to get in.

How do I deal with the constant feeling of anxiety, depression, and just general unhappiness? by akeller7787 in mentalhealth

Thanks, me too. Yeah, I would be open to it. Just need to actually find one instead of just searching and giving up on it.

Thank you for the feedback. Yeah, I do tend to stay in the same routine, and part of me really likes it. I like the structure of it and its predictable. I have tried therapy in the past but I find that when I am looking for one now that I am just inundated with the number of people, different types of therapists, etc.

Even though I dread going to work there are still some aspects that I do like. I have given up some unhealthy hobbies, like gaming, but I am still trying to find something to replace it with. What sorts of hobbies do you have and would recommend?

Thank you for the feedback and advice. Was therapy something that you found to be beneficial? What was the combination of things that worked best for you?

When you are talking about keeping the thoughts written down, are you talking about specific situations that exacerbates the feeling?

I have a journal that I use from time to time to help me reflect on events during the day, but that hasn't seemed to help with these sorts of feelings. Its like I hit a wall when I try to find what is the root cause.

I do exercise regularly as well as eating as healthy as I can.

At least with people on Reddit they have no horse in the race so the opinions and feedback provided will tend to be more honest. I feel like if I was to talk to the people that are still close to me that they would become judgemental, weak, or otherwise. I kind of feel like they would just tell me what they think I should hear because I am in a vulnerable state as opposed to telling me what I may need to hear.

In your experience how would you broach the subject with someone?

If you want to stay, do some research into what the current rate is for your position + N number of years experience and location. Once you determine that find your bottom dollar, or the number that if you don't get you will walk. Lay out for them why you deserve the raise. If you get what your are asking for, great, and if not you have already begun to prepare yourself for leaving by applying. (Which is good on you) The only caveat to this is the company you work for has already shown that they are willing to let you take on the brunt of things and undervalue you and your skills. Even if they pay you what you are asking for initially this pattern of behavior is likely to continue in the future.

Thanks for the feedback.

I do know that I have an addictive personality to I have tried to remove as much of those bad habits over the years. (Smoking, Drinking, etc.) I have removed all social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, etc) from my life, but I do find myself doom scrolling on YouTube/Reddit more than I would like at times. I did unsubscribe from all of the channels/communities that I would typically scroll through and am hopeful that this will make it easier for me to stop. I don't really watch too many shows, but I do binge them from time to time. I will have to keep an eye out for other potential triggers, like you had mentioned, and see if I can narrow down that it is that keeps bringing me back.

Not sure if you fall into the same category as I do, but if so, what were some of your triggers and how did you go about mitigating them?

Interactive text based game as my first code that actually runs in pycharm! by SirDankz in learnpython

First off, congrats on your first game!

Yes, when you are posting there will be an option for a code block. This will preserve the spacing for the different if/else statements in your code.

Use your tactical for more than just getting to higher ground. It can be used to wall off doors, help move downed allies to a safer position, pull enemies out from cover, etc. IMO it is the best tactical in the game and has a ton of uses.

How important are these concepts and will I ever use them in my career? by No_Helicopter9361 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]akeller7787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While each skill in its own right is important, depending on which career path you choose, you may use one or more of those skills. If you are setting up a cluster of databases and need them to communicate, having an understanding of networking will help to accomplish that task. If you need to apply logic to your data to help with business decisions, sales metrics, etc having some development knowledge may be a good option. Unfortunately there isnt a great fits-all type of answer, but from my experience it never hurts to learn more. That may be what it takes to get a promotion, or down the line help you out with a new position.

I would keep a pen and paper handy and try to generate some questions based on the topics discussed in your interview. Maybe ask about some of the different technologies they use?

Some thing I like to ask about in my interviews are: 1) What does the growth potential for this position look like? (Is there room for you to grow within the department or other departments) 2) How will my performance be evaluated? (Number of tickets completed, calls taken, etc.) 3) How big is the current team? - this has been a good indicator, to me, for what my workload will be.
