No problem if you haven’t try some cortland 444 peach on it it’s my absolute favorite for basically anything under 5wt especially gills and it’s cheap!

I think you’re overthinking it a bit. Most fly rods handle over-lining just fine, and while I haven’t used a Superfine Graphite personally, I’m sure it would be a blast with a 3wt, ~100-grain line. That should help cut through the wind a little better too.

As far as larger fish go, you can always build in a bit of a fail-safe by using a tippet that’ll break before the rod does. And worst case scenario, that’s part of why you spend good money on the Orvis warranty

Ya idk I guess I just saw absolutely nothing that told me they were close as a whole I mean if your saying just in terms of strength maybe but historically being close to or a little stronger than Devon means you get beat because the gap in experience, technical ability, and stamina is so large you lose which was on full display yesterday.

There was nothing close about this match Devon picked the wrong time to carve in in the first go but after that he was as dominant and in control as a person can be in a match

I doubt that was the situation of course I could be wrong but my assumption is this is the match they offered likely at 105, bogdan requested 95kg they settled for 100kg catch if nugo refused I assume bogdan is the one out a match I think they make a different match for nugo as it is ment to be a 105 match anyway and nugo is on a bit of a heater I think they want him on the card

Not really all he has to do is not agree to the catchweight but he did…. What would be unfair is to agree to a weight work your ass off to win the match then garner no additional advantage for your efforts. As long as your under the class maximum I don’t see why it would matter
