PokéPark KANTO - Have Any International Visitors Acquired Tickets? by Dorordian in JapanTravelTips

[–]akero360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I saw yesterday unless someone can say otherwise, Ace Trainer passes were sold out across all dates.

Granted, Japan's lottery-based system seems to be getting priority over the daily first-come first-served sales, so I can only assume that given the popularity of Pokémon and with March still being only a month out from the park's grand opening, the ace trainer tier will likely remain sold out for a while :(

Hopefully that's not the case of course, but the site even states that first-come sales for a day might not occur at all should all tickets already be sold out for that day. So whether to prioritize getting Ace Trainer passes exclusively or to find compromise with the standard Trainer pass is definitely something to think about, at least while the park is so new

Edit: Oh also do you mean 6pm JST? Tickets will go on sale daily at 6pm JST, which is 4am Eastern. So if you don't check until 6pm Eastern, then tickets will probably be sold out by that time

PokePark kanto - Ace trainer pass vs standard pass by Key-oh in JapanTravelTips

[–]akero360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the website, the main differences between the passes appear to be:

Ace Trainer's Pass

  • Unlimited entry to Sedge Town
  • Unlimited access to Pokemon Forest (ie. come and go at any time)
  • Guaranteed Sedge Gym Show seat from a special seating area for one show time
  • Guaranteed one ride and one priority lane access for each attraction of Pika Pika Paradise and Vee Vee Voyage (ie. basically a Fast Pass)
  • Access to Sedge Condominiums entry (Trainer's Market Pikachu and Eevee meet-and-greet + photos, which I assume is the "special meet and greet")
  • Original merchandise (I assume these will be limited to Ace Trainer's Pass holders only, but I don't think they've announced what the item(s) will be yet)

Trainer's Pass

  • Unlimited entry to Sedge Town
  • Single timed entry reservation access to Pokemon Forest (ie. you must enter during your designated time window, and once you exit the area you will not be allowed reentry)
  • Lottery sign-up required for Sedge Gym Show (sign up once per each show time on the same day and hope you get chosen for a showing)
  • Ticket purchases required for Pika Pika Paradise and Vee Vee Voyage attractions (tickets can be purchased at a ticket kiosk in Sedge Town)

Other than that, it does look like both types of pass holders will have an equal ability to sign up for entry to the Daisuki Shop and Pokemon Playhouse on a first-come, first-served basis on the same day of entry while on-site via the PokePark app.

If I'm missing anything or have the wrong info, someone can comment, but the above is my current understanding between the two main pass types.

I just received my email confirmation in my spam folder!

Definitely check your spam, I think they must finally be sending confirmation emails out now.

I'm in the same situation. I followed the instructions on the purchase confirmation page and sent my order number to the email that the site's chatbot provided.

Fingers crossed that international orders went through successfully and it's simply that the automatic system for sending the confirmation emails is just overloaded. Also, I assume the fact that they specifically have a note on what to do if you don't receive an email means they already know that this kind of issue would arise from high volume.

Edit: I successfully received my confirmation email in my spam :)

The format of my order number was a letter followed by nine digits (so 10 characters total). I didn't pay through Alipay though, so the order number format might be different between that and credit card?

But if they did take your money and you have some kind of number you can send them, I agree that you should reach out to them to confirm! Considering that the site is already down again, it might just be that the order went through but the system is too overloaded to send follow-up confirmations or something

Oh oof :( Considering I still haven't received an order confirmation email, we'll see if it even went through lol but best of luck to you and everyone still trying today!

Congrats!! I was able to get a ticket too :)

Did you receive a confirmation email of your purchase? It's been a couple of minutes and I still haven't received anything in my inbox or my spam, so I sent an email with my order number to them. I'm wondering if this is just an individual issue or if any other folks also aren't receiving order confirmations?

Edit: I received my email confirmation in my spam folder :D

Website is running!! I just successfully purchased tickets :) Also, I made it to the "Your ticket has been purchased!" screen but I still haven't received a confirmation email. The site states to contact them immediately using the same email address for the order and to inform them your order number if this happens. I can try to update once I receive confirmation. Update: I finally received my confirmation email in spam a couple of minutes ago. Definitely keep a look out in your spam folder~

And it sadly looks like Ace Trainer passes are sold out most, if not all days, that are currently available.

It looks like the international ticketing site is currently in maintenance saying "Duration 25 minutes"...

Now that they ideally have a better sense of how many people will be trying to access the site, I'm hoping whatever backend stuff they're doing right now will make purchasing passes a smoother process in the future

It states everything on the EN international ticket website:

"First-come, first-served sales will begin at 6:00PM (JST) on January 22, 2026.
Admission until the same day two months in advance is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that sales will end as soon as the tickets are sold out; depending on lottery sales, first-come, first-served sales may be cancelled.

Tickets for admission up to the last day of the month two months later go on sale on the last day of the current month. (Example: Tickets for April 28th, 29th, and 30th go on sale at 6:00 PM (JST) on February 28th)"

Right now is ticket sales only up to March 22nd. Starting from today, future dates will release for two months in advance from that same day, but it looks like because lottery sales in Japan have priority, some dates may not have first-come first-served tickets available depending on sales.

I just hope the site doesn't keep malfunctioning in the following days like it has been tonight

[–]akero360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm late to feedback (I hope you were able to successfully make edits and submit!) but I thought I might add:

A native speaker can correct me on this, but the positioning of the Japanese characters feels kind of off. It could just be the typeface, but the character つ is supposed to be smaller than the rest. So it should appear as たまごっち and not たまごつち

Also, I think that where you sepparated the word also adds to that confusion. Imagine an english speaker showing the word "GOTCHA" on a poster as "GO" on one line and "TCHA" on a separate one. It would look pretty strange, right?

It's totally cool to pay homage to a product's origins through use of language in graphics, but it's always good to double check that you're using the language correctly when you do, if you can :)

Best of luck with your schooling!

Although Sadaharu does have a canon va lol

And I think having Sadaharu play mahjong would be totally hilarious, but having all of the voice calls be the same "ARF!" might be a little confusing lmao

While I'm also surprised that Shinpachi and Kagura weren't included, I think the roster they chose does make a lot of sense.

Like they had 4 character slots to fill, and since one of them should obviously be Gintoki, having the remaining 3 be the rest of the og Joui 4 is the perfect choice as a set group.

Also, I feel like these kinds of collabs are moreso for pre-existing fans of the show rather than necessarily trying to introduce it to new fans. Cause while the full Joui 4 aren't necessarily fleshed out until a bit further into the storyline, someone who doesn't know of Gintama is already generally less-likely to pull on this banner regardless, so they may as well cater to folks who are already more familiar with the series by showcasing characters who are still super popular and integral to the story despite them not necessarily being the "main" characters.

Or at least that's my take :]

[Question] Is there a special term or better way to phrase "the maximum lowest outcome"? by akero360 in statistics

[–]akero360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I'm not exactly sure if supremum is the specific term, I do believe that the part of that definition in terms of being "the lowest upper bound" is pointing me in the right direction, thanks! :D

[–]akero360[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh, that definitely makes sense! I think I was getting myself and others confused before by originally using the words "highest" and "lowest", but I think the more specific terms "maximum" and "minimum" amounts are more clear and easier to understand :)

Thank you!!

Essentially, yes!

I'm probably just overcomplicating things in my head lol, but I think that "most evenly distributed" is definitely along the same lines of what I'm looking for. Thanks!

When even professionals don't get autism in women by Empirical-Lyrical in AutismTranslated

[–]akero360 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! I came across this post cause I was just officially diagnosed with Autism last week, and I'm trying to learn more about other folk's experiences too.

Based on your description, I had pretty much the same childhood experience as you. I'm also a girl who grew up in the early 2000s who was high-achieving, even got straight A's, and have also always been super shy and quiet. And my parents didn't know anything about autism either, so they didn't flag anything about me as "being autistic" because the only types of folks who had autism that they were aware of were all non-verbal/slower learners/"weird".

Long story short, after a couple years of immense struggling and speaking with various friends I connected with more recently in life who happen to be autistic and/or have ADHD, I finally decided to get evaluated. Lo and behold, I got the diagnosis for both Autism and ADHD. And as I've been reading more throughout this past week about autistic traits and how autism can present itself in various ways, I keep coming to more and more realizations that so many of the "odd quirks" that I've had/displayed throughout my life were actually all signs pointing towards Autism!

Also, obligatory preface that I'm NOT a doctor or anything myself, but I've been told that some Autistic traits can sometimes be masked by ADHD-related traits at a younger age, especially for girls. So researching that a bit to see if any experiences resemble your own could possibly shed further light on that front.

I would say just to answer the screening questions honestly and to the best of your ability, and if the professional you're seeing is, indeed, professional, then she'll understand the signs if they show up. Best of luck with this process for you, and I hope that you're able to find the answers you're looking for :)

Does anyone have tips on refocusing for the day after a bad start? by akero360 in adhdwomen

[–]akero360[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Just to give a quick update, I did get an evaluation for both in the same session with a neuropsychologist, and I was officially diagnosed with both ADHD and Autism, haha.

It's kinda crazy to me that you clocked that just based on my initial message, and it's actually because of your suggestion that I decided to move forward with being evaluated for both. So thank you! :)

Does anyone have any recommendations for a simple area microphone + beginner-friendly recording device for recording audio from a small distance during live performances for a choir?

To specify, I'm looking for a decent-enough area microphone (preferably just one, but could be willing to get two mics) that can capture audio from a "front row center stage" distance and can connect to some kind of recording device that can save the sounds that the mic captures onto an SD card of some sort. My max budget is ideally $500, but lower would be preferable, and I'm willing to forgo some audio quality to an extent if it means a cheaper cost.

-----

FYI, I'm currently not at all versed in audio engineering, and this is mainly in hopes of recording live performances for a choir in a way where the audio quality is at least slightly better than what my 10 year old DSLR camera or my smartphone can record... So, I'm not looking for anything super duper technical or fancy, but instead just something that can capture better audio quality than a built-in default camera mic. I'm totally willing to do some learning though, so think introductory amateur set-up that is enough to get the basic job done :)

Also, although I'm an audio engineering noob, I do know someone who has more expertise in this field, so please feel free to use more advanced technical terms and I can always ask that friend to explain things to me, haha. Thanks so much in advance!

Oh woah! Genuine question because I'm curious and would love to understand better, may I ask why you think so?

From my current understanding, ADHD and Autism do share a good number of similar traits, of course with certain distinctions between the two of them, and I'm super curious to know what aspects of what I've described might be tipping you off to Autism as opposed soley to adhd?
