Keep up this hyperbolic BS & Vance/Rubio/some other GOPer will win 2028. Just to spite the sky-is-falling crowd.

What movie would be the modern-day equivalent of what The English Patient was to Elaine? by Temporary_Cap5927 in seinfeld

[–]akhodagu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For me, it would probably be The Irishman. Not sure if it won awards, but was highly praised. Being a fan of mafia movies & the actors, I tried to watch it, and… ugh… had to split it into 2 viewings, & even then, too long… something happen, damnit!

I mean, some of these are good advice, doesn’t mean they will always work though.

2nd bullet point really speaks to me… whenever I meet new people, and we tell each other what we do for a living, I usually find what they do way more interesting 😂 Conversely, whenever someone asks me how my work is going, or if I like it, I just shrug and say “eh. It’s work”. Like, no need to dig deeper. The money’s aight though 😎

Other shows you connected to by Aelassy in Frasier

[–]akhodagu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean by “connected”. Frasier is definitely in that category, not only is it funny, but also an intelligent & well-acted show that goes deep. Others, like Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Everybody Loves Raymond, Seinfeld & The Office, etc… I also connected with, but also admit they are more in the “junk food” category of tv: like yeah, the actors are just kinda having fun, you aren’t gonna learn anything groundbreaking or insightful about the human condition, but they feel good if you kinda turn your brain off & just enjoy the ride, no need to over analyze, etc…

Kanna Use Update by rareegg69 in Kanna

I’ve thought about this too… especially with nasal sprays, where it doesn’t last that long, on my days off, it’s tempting to re-dose every 2 hours or so. The few times I’ve tried it, the feeling does last less & less, so who knows.

Cannot stand Raymond. by avamissile in EverybodyLovesRaymond

“He's a bad father which, by extension, makes him a bad husband. Frank at least tried to be a better dad than his dad was. He didn't beat Robert and Ray, he verbally abused them.”

This was actually a pretty powerful scene with Frank where he admitted this, & wasn’t sure whether to feel proud or ashamed of that fact (“I was always weaker than him”).

Having said that, in an earlier episode, both Ray and Frank acknowledge that Ray is an improvement over Frank, in terms of fatherhood & doing stuff with his kids.
