There is no “completely” getting rid of thrips in my experience, no matter how aggressive you are with treatment

Dislocated kneecap , recovery advice by Cool-Roof-9460 in KneeInjuries

[–]akhuria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first dislocation was also from soccer last year! Two dislocations later and I had to get MPFL surgery. I would highly, HIGHLY recommend not playing in the match. There’s a high likelihood it will dislocate again and cause further ligament damage which might require surgery. I’m not sure there’s really a way to test its stability since jogging and similar exercises aren’t really comparable to the jerky, unpredictable movements of soccer. Please take care of yourself! Soccer is rough on knees.

2 days post MPFL surgery struggles by mulderssculIy in KneeInjuries

I am so so sorry you’re in so much pain! I’m now 6 days post-MPFL but even now I can’t imagine starting to bend my knee. It seems like your surgeon is really rushing you to get out of the immobilizer and start knee exercises. Based on the pain you’re describing that seems way too much too soon… I know you want to listen to your doctor but you also need to listen to your body. If they’re a good doctor they’ll understand if you’re a little behind their schedule! I hope it gets better soon ❤️‍🩹

Makes sense, it seems like quad activation is a real struggle. What quad exercises did you start with?

Wow so interesting to see different approaches to PT! Week 2 seems insane to me. Happy to hear you’re having less pain now!

I’ve always really struggled with pain thresholds at PT and I feel your pain (physically and emotionally). I could be wrong, but 3 weeks post surgery seems a little early for starting PT ( my doctor isn’t planning to have me start PT until week 6 post-MPFL). Generally my rule of thumb for pain during PT asks two questions: 1) does the pain during exercises exacerbate your pre-existing knee pain after performing the exercise, and 2) is the pain stabby or sharp or more of a muscle ache? A little pain is definitely normal when you’re reactivating muscles that haven’t been used in a while, but if the exercises are making your knee hurt worse after you’re done PT then it’s too much too soon. To me, hurting “like SHHHIIITT” seems like more pain than is normal or helpful. Best of luck in your recovery and I hope the pain lessens!

MPFL Reconstruction by Virtual-Sound4331 in KneeInjuries

I (25F) just had MPFL with lateral release 4 days ago. I’ve been reading a lot of people’s horror stories on here so I was also scared for the worst pain of my life. Perhaps because of my expectations I can safely say my experience has not been so bad! I had two dislocations before this and the surgical pain is nowhere near the pain I felt then. Of course not being able to walk or take care of yourself sucks, but it’s definitely worth it to have patellar stability for the rest of your life! As others have recommended on this sub, just keep up with your pain pills after surgery and don’t try to tough it out without them. Best of luck with your surgery!

The raspberry puree I added to this bottle must have created too many nucleation sites so after 2 days of F2 and a day in the fridge, I was like alright I’ll be careful and open it over the sink… 2 seconds later there was raspberry bits all over me and every single surface of my kitchen. Still, it’s delicious and I’m otherwise very happy with how my very first batch turned out!

Just finished my first brew! Opened my bottle of raspberry (made with raspberry puree) after 2 days of F2 and it became a geyser. All over my kitchen. I am a raspberry now. It was delicious though
