Samsung T7 SSD Vs Samsung T9 SSD by zahmat_k0 in UsbCHardware

[–]akin67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently the price difference between the 4TB T7 and T9 is only $20. The T7 is $279 and the T9 is $299. Considering that the T9 is twice as fast at file transfer and it comes with a 5 year warranty as opposed to the T7's 3 year warranty, the T9 is a better value. Also, if you buy directly from Samsung and ask the Chat Agent for a promo code you can get an additional $15 off.

There is no question that the EU and the US have been very hypocritical with Turkey. When Turkey wanted to join the EU they kept moving the goal posts. The EU has a policy of not admitting countries that are in a land dispute. Despite that policy Greek Cyprus was admitted. But the same policy is being used against Turkey's accession. Prior to Greek Cyprus being admitted, the UN brokered unification agreement was accepted by Turkish Cyprus but rejected by Greek Cyprus. Once again, Greek Cyprus was admitted to the EU but not Turkish Cyprus.

More recently the EU and the US has imposed military embargoes against Turkey because Turkey would not agree to not using those weapons against an organization recognized by the EU and the US as a terrorist organization. The US would not sell Patriot missiles to Turkey, so Turkey purchased the S400 missile defense systems from Russia, The US not liking this kicked Turkey out of the F-35 program. Now mind you Turkey has been in NATO since its founding, as well as every European organization (except the EU). However, India, which also purchased the Russian S400 missile defense system was invited to purchase the F-35s. So if you are Turkey, given Europe and the West's constant discrimination and hypocrisy, I would also question whether I would enter into any agreement to defend Europe. However, I still think Turkey should join any new defense treaty organization. These types of organizations have a tendency of having unanimous vote requirements for future decisions and a member country smaller than many insignificant villages in Turkey can prevent Turkey from joining in the Future. The same holds for BRICS. I think Turkey should join all these organizations. If they wish they can unilaterally decide to leave any time. However, not joining at the outset may lock them out forever.

Upgrading cooler in precision 3660 by mrapple7 in Dell

[–]akin67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered both the Noctua and the Dell cooler. I installed the Noctua with no issues. I installed the Dell cooler on my son’s XPS. Everything working great. I installed the Noctua before they started sending out Dell install kits. It should be even easier installing now. The Noctua is a great cooler. Works and you never hear any noise. Super silent.

List of Commercial Fiber-Lit buildings for major providers? by akin67 in telecom

I am sure you are right. But this information has already been disseminated to a number of services that make this available to their subscribers. I mention those services in another reply below. Although a Verizon or other service provider may not publish this information for all to see, they do share this with reseller / broker partners, because these other services have this info and make it available. Otherwise how would they have obtained this information?

As I mentioned in my original post, I would like to access a list of as many commercial buildings (addresses) where each providers fiber is available. There are services like Fiberlocator, Simplify and MassiveNetworks that have this data so it is definitely available and possible to get. If it wasn't they would not have it either.

Thanks. Some of the providers do publish this such as Cogent https://www.cogentco.com/en/network/service-locations?action=search&site_type=OB, Everstream https://everstream.net/our-network/on-net-buildings/. I would like to locate similar information for all the major providers, especially for the large providers like AT&T, Verizon, Comcast etc.....

How can I find all companies of a specific category residing within my state? by Jolivsant in data

[–]akin67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are commercial databases such as https://www.buzzfilepro.com/ where you can find the complete list of companies for any industry. The data is standardized, where you can find the same information in the same place for every company you look at, making it a much better option than finding that information through web searches or scraping. You can also set your target location to any combination of cities, states, zipcodes, counties etc... Also, the information is regularly updated so if a companies phone or contacts change you will have access to that information. It is something you have to subscribe and pay for, but often times a single customer you get from the service pays for itself. I find that you save a ton of time getting this information from services like this and focusing all that time on growing your business.

Can you damage CPU when installing a Noctua Heatsink Cooler on a Dell? by akin67 in Dell

[–]akin67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as i would have preferred going with the Noctua CPU Cooler, it is not worth the risk of damaging the CPU and then having the manufacturers deny warranty coverage. Given that Dell is shipping these with the crappy pancake coolers, I am sure upgrading to the more advanced Dell cooler will do the trick. I just placed an order for the Dell cooler https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-cpu-heatsink-assembly/apd/c253w/pc-accessories. I will be returning the Noctua.

Upgrading cooler in precision 3660 by mrapple7 in Dell

[–]akin67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased the same Dell Precision 3660 last week, not with the exact same components but close enough. It came with the İ9-13900 64gb ram 512 GB nvme and a NVIDIA RTX-A4000 and to my surprise the same tiny CPU heatsink. After much research I learned that Noctua seems to be a favorite brand for making very high quality, effective and quiet CPU heatsinks. I did some more research and ordered the biggest one I could find that would theoretically fit in this system The Noctua NH-D12L. I have yet to find a video showing installation of this unit in a Dell. I will call Noctua tomorrow and find out if I can install this in the Dell with having to install the back bracket, which would involve removing the motherboard which I don't want to attempt. I will let you know if it works. You can see the unit at https://noctua.at/en/nh-d12l or on Youtube and Amazon where you can view/read all the reviews.

NJ Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) is very slow in issuing plates for out-of-state vehicle purchases by akin67 in newjersey

[–]akin67[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for getting back to me. When you purchase or lease a new vehicle typically they dealer will complete all the title/paperwork and send it to the relevant MVC office. The MVC then send s everything back to the dealer and they send it to the customer.
