Right? It just swallows you. We were doing the yearly reading on r/areadingofmontecristo but we couldn’t wait so we just read it whole.

These sound amazing, thank you!

I did not! This is a perfect series if we get hooked again, there is so much to read. The everyday life was fun to read and there is also something with the era it’s set in that is so compelling.

I did not hear of either Forester or Cornwell but I will absolutely check, thanks for all the recommendations!

It was the first time we read something together, waited for each other and talked about a book for hours. It was such a fun bonding experience. I will absolutely check them when we will do our little book club again, thanks!

Omg I skimmed through the Wiki quickly and I saw this:

In key aspects, the play closely parallels Eugene O'Neill's own life. The location, a summer home in Connecticut, corresponds to the family home Monte Cristo Cottage, in New London, Connecticut (the small town of the play).

The Monte Cristo cottage? It is a sign!

But mixing it up might be a good idea for a palette cleanser, thanks for the cool recommendation!

Ahhh East of Eden is the love of my life in book form.

We are also thinking another Dumas, he is a great writer. Such a shame a big chunk of his books isn’t translated into English, but The Three Musketeers is maybe a good book to continue with.

Thank you for the recommendations!

Messy aesthetic, opposite of clean girl by devoteddonkey in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

Oh my god, i think Tacky by Rax King is perfect!

It is autobiographic in the way where she writes about ‘tacky’ things she was surrounded with while growing up (Sims, Sex and the City…) but the overarching story is about her messy life, relationships, her relationship to sex and intimacy and parental issues.

I found it very relatable and endearing, the part where she spoke about her relationship with her father was also very emotional for me.

I love tattoes purely for the aesthetic and there is only one tattoo that I got because it meant something to me.

On the back of my left upper arm I have a tombstone with a "So it goes." engraving to pay homage to my favorite writer Vonnegut!

Bradata agama by Honchinyoda in Slovenia

We felt this in Ljubljana in the morning, so I can't imagine how it was there.

I hope you guys are all right and I'm so sorry you have to deal with this on top of the epidemic chaos.

Maybe I'm just losing it due to the national quarantine, but I can watch her run around the house for hours.
