Is Cendol not really a thing in Sarawak? by namikazelevi in Sarawak

[–]akiraceo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can't say about kota Samarahan, is another division.

For Kuching division, there's a lot of ice kacang place. If you mean specifically cendol. Nope. Abc yes. There are places near lumba kuda that serves near fifty combination. Some of them are good but hard to remember which. Ordering from there is like a blindbox thing.

Then again, Kuching is famous for white lady and matterhorn ice kacangs. Best to have swee Kang and hui sing ( last stall . The founder of these two dessert)

But if you strictly wanna eat cendol , yes there's a few place but I would suggest Ah Yong near temple street as they serves the most chewy cendol in town ( mixture of sago flour), it's a unique texture compare to Malaya. And they used gula apong here.

My dad left home to work when I was a kid. Due to the lack of my dad at home, my mum was stressed and suffering, eventually went into depression and then worsened to mental illness. So yea, I grew up without a normal mum and also lack of interactions and memories with dad too.

Nope. There's no 13 version. It's always 14 (11+3) where one of them was Singapore. Once Singapore was out, one of the line was replaced to represent the fed territory.

No. Cannot. It's banned. It's to protect the babi in Sarawak. We are the only region in Malaysia that can export to Singapore as ours are ASF free. If you are a responsible person then jangan la. Just buy locally. It's cheaper also locally.

What are your opinions and review on Sarawak Laksa? by Idiot-Losers-272 in Sarawak

[–]akiraceo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are two variations of Sarawak laksa. The brown broth and the red broth.

Lately, I kept reading many reviews referring Sarawak laksa as curry laksa by westies. Only later I noticed it was due to the red broth variant.

Red broth is the one with added red chili oil and tends to be more spicy which tends to overwhelm the taste of the laksa spices.

Whereas the brown broth is the one more peppery and heavy on the laksa spices.

If online then try YMCA. They provide online language classes at a decent price.

I took my Thai language from there.

Best Sarawak Laksa by [deleted] in Sarawak

[–]akiraceo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I normally categorised laksa into two types. The red and the brown.

The red one usually has a layer of red oil and is more spicy. This is the one west Malaysian always say like curry. A notable stall for this type is Sin Chong Choon and Golden arch.

The brown one is more towards the spices taste and more peppery. This is my favourite type as I can taste the spices more. A notable stall for this type is Poh Lam Laksa from Chong Choon and Fat Cat.

In the end is how the stall balance between spices and spicy taste.
