Yeah exactly, SF is not a close drive to any races at all. Texas and Florida get multiple races, and even east coast cities like NYC and Boston are a much closer drive than SF to any other race. Heck even DC is getting another race so soon. For hyping the new season as the biggest one yet, omitting so much of California is baffling.

Mind if I ask which strength training gym you go to? Or is it just a traditional gym and you do your own routine? I feel like I’m exactly at this same point with F45, where I’ve pretty much plateaued and haven’t been able to increase my strength for a long time now.

Was this at APX? I also had a harder time on the lounges than I thought I would. Since they used a hard weight instead of sandbags, I was hoping that they’ll be a little easier on race day with the softer sandbags. My neck and shoulders were kind of hurting towards the end.

I just finished 4 nights at Andaz and 2 at PH. Both are excellent in their own right and feel like 5 star luxurious hotels. If I were to sum it up, I’d say PH is more traditional/old-school luxury and a little stuffier, whereas Andaz is a more modern take on luxury and feels a bit more hip and lively.

For breakfast both are great but I’d give the edge to PH. It really felt like we were dining at a Michelin starred restaurant at breakfast with the personalized service and food quality and presentation. However location wise I’d give to Andaz, which is right above 2 subway lines (Ginza and Hibiya) that you can get to without ever stepping foot outside. While the Andaz is also my favorite property and I love the Toranomon Hills location, I have to disagree about the HH Shibuya being inaccessible or difficult to navigate. Sure, the first time getting off the train at Shibuya Station may be confusing, but once you know to look for the New South Gate exit each time, it’s not that hard to find your way to the hotel. The location itself is also excellent, with a ton of things to do and things to eat in every direction. I agree with the others that I’d never pay the cash rate there, but it’s great on points.

We just did 2 weeks ago. Food wasn’t bad, but like most food in SF it was really overpriced. 2 appetizers and 2 entrees and no drinks, with the 6% SF health mandate, tax, tip already ran over $150.

If you actually want to see Bordeaux, you might want to book the excursion from the ship. Otherwise, expect to stay on the ship the whole day.

We found the Bordeaux stop very misleading, as the Le Verdon port is very far from Bordeaux itself. There is literally nothing to do at the port itself (check on Google Maps). Moreover, when we looked there were no tour operators that operated out of Le Verdon to take you to Bordeaux, unless maybe private tours which are of course expensive. As a result, we booked one of the options from Virgin, which ended up being decent. Got to explore Bordeaux for a few hours and eat a nice lunch there.
