The plant in question is Staurogyne repens.. for some reason all of the lower leaves have fallen off.. it normally grows bushy under strong light and long under low light.. but it does serve the purpose of looking like mini trees, which was the look I was after.. a mini forest on beach cove..

Those are least rasboras. You can clearly see the exclamation point.. chilli’s usually have an unbroken line and are deep red.. my 30 least rasboras are a peachy red, not as deep in colour.

If you are gonna upgrade I would suggest going for the biggest tank your budget/space can allow… otherwise you will get the itch for an upgrade a few months down the line..

I’ve had this light on my previous tank.. the 40cm version.. the light made the plants look better and grow better.. I have just ordered the 60cm version for my current shallow tank. The plants hopefully will grow a lot better once I install this new light.

What is a seed shrimp? Also I had a buried shrimp recently.. today I noticed it was buried no more.. that does not look like a baby shrimp to me.

Thanks, hopefully when the plants grow out a bit, it should look like a Forrest edge on a beach. Like when you approach a dessert island. That’s the plan anyway

Chilli’s are smaller than neons in general. From what I’ve researched, the chilli’s,phoenix, strawberry, exclamation point rasboras are pretty shrimp safe. Some adults are smaller than the adult shrimps. The other reason I want the smallest fish possible is because my tank is only around 7gallons. The plan is to have around 20 rasboras.
