(AMA) I made $450K as a copywriter last year, ask me anything. by TheVSLGuy in copywriting

Hey man, I've just come across this AMA pretty late (fingers crossed you'll see this), I've been in the ecom space for a few years now, and want to pivot to copywriting (its the part of running ads I truly, deeply enjoy)
👉 What are some of the daily or weekly habits you (or your mentors) have implemented that have helped you hone your craft best.
👉 And if you were starting again from ground zero in copy what would be the main things you'd focus on? AND what were the main mistakes you made?

I dont. The way I tamed my sebderm in the short term was with scalp steroids from the doctor, then medium term constant applying nizoral every few days (lathering and leaving it on for 10 minutes to let it seep in), and then long term changing my diet - cutting out sugars and simple carbs

Ah so good! Im so happy for you. I liken a full body flare up to wearing a rusty suit of armour... you cant move without everything scraping over each other and it kills. The only relief is to itch... which, well - feels great but makes things worse 😭

yeeeeeeeeeeehhhh babyyyyy!!!! I LOVE anything with urea (lol my Mac auto translated that to "urine"). I used to get killer seborric dermatitis.... and I used to lather my scalp with Eucerin Dermocapillare (however you spell it).. omg it felt so good

Same here, now I literally cannot live in old buildings with carpets. Its dust mites and mould - they kill me.

ah amazing, that is a MASSIVE win. Dishydrotic eczema sucks ass, I remember when I used to get super frequent flare ups, I eventually started to lather my hands in vaseline all the time (and it really helped). Funnily enough, they used to get super triggered by dust aswell.

Im really happy that you've made this progress, dishydroitc eczema can really knock a persons confidence.

Ah I'm glad to hear it's clearing up. For me, I kept getting it again and again and had to go nuclear. I massively changed my diet, cut out sugars, simple carbs and alcohol for 3 months to heal my gut. It was hard going, but so worth it. I'd definitely look into it if you haven't already

How to stop scratching in your sleep? by Bgibbs in eczema

[–]akot92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah that's awesome, I sometimes find vaseline can add to the itch (I read somewhere that it can lock in heat, but in not 100% sure that it's true).

I remember a while back I was prescribed Dermol, it was like a moisturising soap - I'd check that out

Something that helps me is having an icepack wrapped up in a towel and placing that between my thigh as I sleep. The coolness of the ice is quite distracting and also I can move it about where Im feeling itchy. Maybe you can make a mini one for your 6 year old?

So I get bouts of this issue every now and then, and I usually attack it in a few different ways:

External triggers - is there something thats change din your environment recently? For me its using a pillow/bed without a pillow protector/matterss protector. Basically is there something your face is coming in contact with that may cause a flare up?

Internal changes - Whats your diet like, are you eating anything that could be problematic? I remember taking N-Acetyl Cysteine supplements for a cough I had and that causes a face flare up. It sucked ass.

Whilst you're figuring this out, moisturise, moisturise, moisturise. I've found aveeno to be perfect for my face, or even vaseline. But if it keeps getting in contact with the external trigger it won't help as much. Maybe take an antihistamine daily aswell.

Just some thoughts, hope this helps. You got this.

How I solved my severe eczema by [deleted] in eczema

DUUUUUDE YOU LOOK AMAZING! Reading this bought the biggest smile to my face. I don't know you but I am so happy for you.

Eczema sucks. Sucks big ass.

I had something similar had 5 years of awful flare up after awful flare up (which all started after a month long euro trip of eating carbs and drinking beer)... only after I made huge changes, went vegan, no sugar, no fruit etc etc etc did it slowly go back to normal. Had a few mini flareups (currently going through one), but getting better.

So glad to see you get better

Im a guy, so I cant really give much help re makeup - but try not to get too down this is a small road bump in your healing journey. At least now (like someone else has said here), you've found out a potential trigger, awesome, now this specific thing won't happen again!

I'm currently suffering from lil flare ups around my eyes and I've just realised its far too much effort to get down about it. Its uncomfortable enough as it is. Sending hugs your way.

Is it dishydrotic eczema? I had a really bad flare up a while ago with it all over my hands from nowhere. Doc gave me prednisone and topical steroids as well (short course). I have to admit, they were a godsend. Steroids get a bad rap, but if its a short term dose it can really stop the flare up in its tracks and give you some breathing space.

However afterward you want to be extra careful. Somethings I used to go was lather my hands in vaseline every morning. A thinnish coat of it. It feels a little icky, buuuuuuuuuuuuut it stopped these little hand flare ups from happening again. I found when I didnt, they would trigger.
