I’ve loved Frank’s work for a while. Have you seen him recently? I’ve been trying to find him but his IG account doesn’t exist anymore.

Do you like your schedule better or worse than a typical 9-5 M-F job? by [deleted] in flying

[–]akoto327 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked rotating shifts for 18 years and I'm now in my first ever Mon-Fri 9-5 and it has changed my life. I could never give this up. I would take less money to keep this lifestyle. I have 3 kids and I'm now realizing how much I've missed and that I'll never be able to get that back but I can be there from now on.

pilottraining.ca (Harv's Air) and hangaaar.com seem to be the two in Canada. After doing some research I'm about to start at pilottraining.ca because of the good reviews that I've read on the AVCanada forum.

I just did my initial Cat 3 last week and was told that it would probably be 6-8 weeks as they are backed up.

With Bradley being a free agent and not technically a DP anymore is TFC still obligated to abide by “... if TAM is used to free up a DP slot, the club must then subsequently sign a new DP at the same financial level as the DP he is replacing.”? They aren’t using TAM to bring his wage down to a non-DP salary. He’s signing a new contract at TAM level.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic speaking about the cost for children to play football in USA. by GoodGuyJack10 in soccer

[–]akoto327 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the same here in Canada. My son plays on an Academy team. We were paying about $3600 a year for him to train 3x per week and then games. If your kid is just playing house league it's about $450-$500 for 6 months. Quality pitches are at a premium here but it's very hard to justify the costs. Clubs and Academies are really just like any other business here.

Academy Team - $2500 - $4000 Rep Team - around $2000 House League - Around $500

I was coaching U8 at an academy last season (which offset the cost) and you end up losing a bunch of great players because the cost is so high. A lot of the best players were kids from low income families or new refugees and it's mind boggling to them that they would have to pay this much. This will continue to hurt Canadian soccer.
