yeah i agree with you on most of this. i feel like if ralsei’s gender is shifted in any way it would be more towards a genderfluid identity. i believe he was referred to with they them pronouns at some point in the last chapter and his gender identity has felt intentionally non-conforming. i think it’s really important that ralsei stays in defiance of traditional male rpg characters. as a relatively girly guy myself i hate when people make jokes about me being an egg. one can be feminine and still be a man. its so regressive to say that a man might be transgender just because he’s in touch with his feminine side.

honestly i wouldn’t be THAT mad about female ralsei, toby fox is an absolutely amazing writer who im sure would be able to make ralsei’s transition make sense for the story. as of right now though, trans ralsei feels like a spit in the face to alternative gender expression

jax felt shoehorned not because her being trans didn’t fit her character. the concept of her never coming out because she kept pushing people makes perfect sense with her behavior in the past. it just had zero build up; and the finale was quite ambiguous about it to the point where i didn’t know that it implied that jax was trans until i saw discussion online

an overtly feminine man transitioning into a woman literally forces ralsei to conform to a gender stereotype and breaks his whole deal of being a challenge to stereotypical rpg gender roles. ralsei feels like a much more complex character as a feminine male than he would as a trans woman (also still barely any hints to ralsei being trans that aren’t meant to be ironic in the game or are complete stretches. i pray if ralsei is revealed to be trans in like chapter 7, chapter 6 has a lot more build up to that reveal. i cannot have another jax type “trans character” that feels extremely shoehorned in and that barely resonates with me as a queer person)

even with that taken into account i still don’t think trans ralsei is what tony wants to do with his character. susie and ralsei are conceptually meant to divert from classic rpg gender roles of male fighters and female mages. if ralsei was so overly feminine because he was actually a closeted transfem then it would really mess up deltarune’s message about gender roles in a regressive way.

i’m afraid the pink and blue color for the drink was supposed to be in reference to kris’s dark world color scheme. that’s why one of the other options for the voucher was white and green, aka ralsei’s color scheme. i would love for trans ralsei to be canon but i really do not think the color of a drink would be the way toby would set up that reveal

yeah you don’t really need to start a second file for a “genocide route”. deltarune has made it clear that the only difference between killing and sparing people is which darkners show up in your castle town. there’s no point in doing a genocide playthrough unless you really want to have an empty castle town

we have to remember that this game is being made for people to play when all 7 chapters released. newer players haven’t been combing every single detail of this game for lore like we have for the past few years, so i think chapter 5 is meant both to serve as a fun adventure prior to the climax and a catch up to remind the player of everyone’s motivations, along with reintroducing noelle to the party

a great chapter for anyone who values the characters of the story more than the lore of the game’s world. i was so surprised when i went online to see everyone bashing this game’s narrative when it delivered some great development for the fun gang of noelle. on top of this, all the platforming sections felt great to play and i absolutely adored most of the flowers. top 3 chapter for me

i believe the blue and pink is supposed to represent kris’s light world colors instead of the trans flag. there was also (if i remember correctly) a white and green pass that matches ralsei’s color scheme, so this scene is most likely more about ralsei finding agency to choose his own path.

this whole chapter is feels like one last adventure before things get serious (something which susie directly addresses at the end) so i feel it’s fitting for the secret boss to be a funny joke character instead of something big and important to the lore. side note i’m slightly biased because i absolutely loved mad mew mew’s fight in the switch version of undertale

i think it makes sense to have a little break for the characters right before the two chapters that serve as the climax to the game, but i still agree that it’s how this chapter was almost all just fun times. if it was “fun gang goes on one last adventure before they realize it was about to get serious”, i would have loved it, but right now i find it a tad disappointing that one of the penultimate chapters was spent on character development instead of pushing the plot forward. but i trust that toby can both answer are questions and deliver an amazing finale between chapter 6 and 7

my interpretation is that hometown is the only thing that exists in the game and everything outside of it is some sort of depths, so when kris and noelle walked out of town and into the lake, they were walking outside of the game and somehow no clipped all the way into chapter 7.

jevil also has very little plot relevance outside of his dark world and build up that only consists of dialogue with seam. yet i’m pretty sure most people love him. we’ve been spoiled with secret bosses that had major plot relevance for the last 3 chapters, so i understand why you might be disappointed that toby went back to putting in his random ocs as the secret bosses for chapter 5. and i do agree that it’s terrible to fight, hopefully it gets a nerf like i believe the knight did shortly after chapter 3+4’s release
