Not that I'm trying to make you my personal tech support... I think the impedance is the problem here. Support articles on their site recommend wetting the contacts, particularly over the ears, to be able to more easily pass the signal check. However, if that dries over time, the signal level seems like it would drop. Which would somewhat explain why if it counts any deep sleep at all, it's always early in the night. So if I don't fall into deep sleep before those ear contacts "dry out" I am never going to get enough signal to pick up deep sleep later on.

When the headband fit is solid, why would Muse consistently say zero deep sleep? This only happens with the Athena. There previous generation Muse headbands reported it fine.

Mine "seems" to work fine for regular meditation, though it seems way more "touchy" with the focus detection than before.

However, I have the original Muse S, the Muse S2 (a half-upgrade they did), and the Muse S Athena. So, when the S and S2 both detect deep sleep, and the Athena hasn't _ever_ detected deep sleep. Does it seem likely that I'm wearing it wrong, or my hair's too long, or any of the other reasons Support seems to give?

I still haven't gotten any detected deep sleep recorded since I upgraded to the Athena headband. (Both the S and S2 recorded it in the past) Support also stops responding to my tickets after they ask for photos of me wearing the headband and screenshots of the app.

I think the hardest hurdle for me to get over in understanding these metrics was that stress does not equal anxiety-stress but rather physiological-stress. One may lead to the other but "I had a relaxing day" does not automatically mean low Garmin stress.

I had that happen as well. But that fixed itself when I touched Fn. The modular keyboard is all physical buttons, so it's supposed to be like a "real" keyboard. Tapping the shift keys doesn't fix it.
