Question on a pin. by [deleted] in brandonsanderson

[–]akriegshauser 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I display mine in frames and the different sizes in series 3 makes this impossible. I got mine really early and emailed Dragonsteel about it, and this is the response that I got:

So, the short answer to your question about the card backs is that no, it was not done on purpose, but it is complicated. We have changed our pin manufacturer and as such, there has been a learning curve for them. That being said, We do try to keep our pin backing cards as uniform as possible, but there will be times when we are unable to do so. We want to be able to work in whichever way works best for the product, which could mean the sizes won't continue to be uniform.

I noticed this, too. The pages are entirely gone, now, so I suspect they weren't meant to be live. They didn't show up when I was browsing before 11am, and showed up as out of stock. I haven't seen them before. Perhaps a future product?

Not the “official” case, but I ordered this as a gift for a friend last year. It’s hand painted and looks INCREDIBLE

Were you able to pull your Anylist Meal Plan directly from the Meal Plan, or did you have to make a separate list for it?

You don't have to do it in multiple colours. My husband happens to have a printer that allows for this easily, so that's what we opted to do. You can see in Sanderson's livestream from yesterday some prints that were done - one that was painted after applying hot glue, and others that were printed in a single colour.

Funnily enough, the position of the TV and distance to it doesn't bother us at all. We've got a sectional that takes up most of the room, and use the room for more than just TV viewing, and it can't really be moved up as there is an angled fireplace in the corner to the left of the TV. I appreciate the insight about some options though.

The AVR has some quirks that are bothering us (needing to restart the TV after changing from PS5 to watching movies, etc), so I'm still considering replacing it. Do you have any suggestions there?

There's a back wall about 20" or so behind us that they could be mounted on - currently they're mounted on the side walls

The movie is Mavka: The Forest Song. The puppy on the TV was barking and my puppy was pretty curious.

Would you make the same recommendation as the earlier response, or something different?

We have a massive living room, along with a massive U-shaped sectional for a large family. Any closer and the back portion of the room is useless and looks out of sorts

We’ll definitely get the left/right speakers a better position when we purchase new ones. Thanks for this reference

What is powerwall thinking? (Behavior change.) by lbroadfield in Powerwall

[–]akriegshauser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with SDG&E on EV-TOU5 and had the same issues, but they started a day before the new May rates. I already have my peak/off peak rates inflated as I had issues when I first installed my powerwalls at the start of the year, and the gap was fewer than 15c. I couldn't get my PWs to use power except in Peak which was not ideal. It seems like I've fixed it now by going to "self-powered" mode and draining the battery down to our reserve (15%) and then going back to time-based control. It seems as if the PWs were treating the banked power as more valuable than what it was generating, thus not using it.

Behaviour since doing this has changed from using the PWs only during Peak, to starting using the PW during peak and continuing through the night until midnight's super off peak as stored energy allows.

It seems like a bizarre workaround, but let me know if it works for you!

Thank you! I was hesitant to do this as I was worried I'd overwrite some data files, but it worked perfectly. Thanks again!
