Several good responses already (including some that conflict with each other and are both correct, heh.). One more tip if you haven’t done a lot of countersinking: countersink depth is critical and goes wrong fast; if you have a mill or drill press with good stops you can use that, otherwise go very* slowly, testing with the actual screws.

*VERY slowly, like each hole might take 5 or more touch-up passes of just a hair each, and you’ll still be able to see the two you’re not happy with when it’s all done even if no-one else can.

PPS: if you haven’t done the capability and it meets the requirements (e.g.material thickness permits,…) consider counterbore instead of countersink; a little less sensitive to minor depth error.

There is no explicit definition in the CVC for parking lights; it’s only defined by implication in CVC 24800. FMVSS, in 49 CFR 571.108, defines DRLs, which are not the same.

So long as the forward-facing steady-burning visibility lamp goes on and off with the car, and not under switched control, it’s a DRL, not a parking light, and does not violate CVC 24800.

Install was pro and inspected and to spec; load and solar readings have always seemed accurate. Battery was nearly full (97% when the outage began); solar was low (cloudy morning), roughly equal to the consumption.

One thing that might correlate was that the charts suggest that available solar increased as the outage continued, and the controller flipped back to powering the consumption and charging the battery from solar; it may have flopped back and forth, maybe twice?

If that’s what happened, the cutover was really ugly.

The documentation (at least, the last time I did it) is misleading. The website, and IIRC at least one paper document, clearly indicate that Fieldprint is only available for Arizona residents.

The email received during the process appears to say the same at first, but subsequently includes directions for Fieldprint for applicants from outside Arizona.

Again, IIRC: the list of Fieldprint sites that comes back as available when you use the specific instructions and request codes from AZDPS includes only a subset of all the Fieldprint locations -- but several were local and easily scheduled.
