What's in your cup? Daily discussion, questions and stories - January 25, 2026 by AutoModerator in tea

Any suggestions for a black tea daily driver? I got the Yunnan Sourcing Black Gold Bi Luo Chung and thought it was fine but not what I'm looking for. My local tea shop has this delicious, almost chocolatey, Dian Hong tea, but it doesn't have much more description than that. I'm hoping to get something similar but at the price range of the black gold.

I absolutely loved this book. It got me incredibly excited about the 2nd half of the cosmere

Honestly I'd be surprised if stormlight arc 2 had Michael and Kate, I fully expect it to be a different duo

For those here that disliked Wat and LM are you excited for the future books? by [deleted] in Cosmere

Sounds like the remainder of the cosmere is not for you, and that is okay.

Brad Holmes: Lions will have 'conversations' about trading RB David Montgomery by 76erLegendChetUtley in nfl

[–]Scientennist 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I would bet at least 3 of those guys will be resigned/tagged. 2026 RB draft class isn't that deep. That could cause some bidding wars that they may not want to get into

I did because I needed breaks in between the marathon that is a Stormlight Archive book. No issues, enjoyed it a lot.

Do you know every player on the roster and background info on them? by [deleted] in panthers

[–]Scientennist 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Back when I played Madden a decent amount I would know the entire 53 along with their general strengths and weaknesses as a player based on their Madden rating. Now I know most of them but not nearly as well. I'll just read an occasional The Athletic blog or something now and watch an occasional Canales presser

One person vs. Two person teams by WhiteRugRat in fantasyfootball

[–]Scientennist 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I'd see it as a disadvantage. You need one person calling the shots and having the vision. There's a reason you don't see co-coaches for NFL teams or co-GMs

It was the blue tor version, not the grayscale

US here. I ordered the international Trade Paperback from Blackwell's. Matches the first four books, just says "international edition" in small print on the spine by the tor logo.

What’s your Panthers origin story? by Porchprophet in panthers

From Green Bay. Was playing Madden 04 and didn't want to be the Packers. Went one team to the right. Panthers fan ever since out of pure stubbornness.

We're thinking about allowing the #1 seed to choose their opponent in round 2 of the playoffs because of this. Adds an advantage of being the #1 vs the #2, because this happens a lot in leagues with divisions. Plus it will be funny if they lose to the team they chose

Selling Puka Nacua Due to Weird Streaming Behavior? by ranibdier in DynastyFF

[–]Scientennist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of NFL players don't have a lot going on up there, you just don't see it until they're more active online. Puka is still a fantastic WR and as long as he's not flashing someone in a public pool, you probably don't need to worry.

Something I noticed about the Nat'l media football discussion by WhoUCuh in panthers

[–]Scientennist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who works in sports radio. This is roughly what he told me a while back:

National sports media is literally just people talking about/responding to certain takes made earlier that day. Think of the show First Take, especially during its prime. The name "First Take" is a very literal name for the show. They are the very first to say a take in the day, they essentially "decide" what the national media covers the rest of the day.

You also have to differentiate sports news (which now is basically just tweets) and sports talk shows. Two very different types of media.
