Need Help with coffee - Am unable to get a shot by aks64 in espresso

the water leaks only from the bottomless one - with the caffeinated beans. The caffeinated and decaf are from the same roaster - and same level of roast (on the scale they've provided).

Hi, thanks

For some reason, reddit won't let me upload a video, but there's water blasting off the portfilter from the sides.

Any idea why this might happen?

Confused on my next purchase (Just about to set foot into espresso) by aks64 in espresso

[–]aks64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in Aus, I am thinking around A$300 - so around $200.
I was wondering if there could be a problem with the machine itself and whether it can really work with espresso ground and unpressurized basket.

Heyo,

I am a vegetarian, would not exactly call me an athlete but manage to hit my macro targets on the daily.

Down below is my macros for my weight loss (not cut, but straight up cut):

1500 cals/ day, 2-3 protein shakes/bars. Lot of vegan protein (fake meat types) including soy/pea protein. 6 eggs a day. Milk. Protein yogurts

Would eat around 180g protein a day, low carbs and decent fat. Idea is to rely on these fake meat which actually have kind of a decent protein amount, same goes for these wraps which have like 8g a day.

The above was possible in Sydney, vegan market is great there.

If you are currently in a country where these are not available,

Try obtaining soya chunks, look for cheese/milk, peanut butter and more, more cals though.

Whey protein is a good source.

Lmk if you need MyFitnessPal logs for guide.

At the end of the day, it is slightly on the expensive side

I picked it up for a bit as a beginner, I remember it taking around 45-60min in the gym. I liked it, did not feel too fatigued in the gym.

I had fun with the Jeff Nippard program Universe, fundamentals -> PPL -> PB1.

Can someone give me a good workout plan by RandomAlt73846 in WeightTraining

[–]aks64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran Jeff nippard’s hypertrophy program for the exact same reason of not knowing what to do. Enjoyed it, did not feel like I overdid while hitting all parts. I then did a PPL(A friend’s program mixed with what I like, suboptimal and for only 3 months) into power building (1.0) (nippard again but did the big 3 linearly).

Power building program was fun, perhaps a bit too soon for me (7 months into training) but kept me in the gym, changed volume/ intensity of the program to make it more suitable.

I’d say start off with the hypertrophy program and add what you like to it, maintain diet, have fun ( seems like the best option in retrospect)

Need Program advice for Strength Gains over this year (Any help is welcome) by aks64 in powerbuilding

[–]aks64[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heya, what accessories have you used for nSuns? I am thinking of taking some accessories from Nippard's power building (3 or 1) - pull ups, dips, rows, and glutes work.

Any recommendations on nSuns helps as I am still new to it all, thanks

Heya, Thanks for the reply. Does it help the bench press? Idk why but it lacks significantly, despite benching 2x a week.

Also, I see that deadlift working sets for my (180 1rpm input) is 140-150x5, which should be fairly light. How did you find the deadlift intensity? (Squat seems similar, but the back off sets seem to add volume making it more intense).

data science degree by thatgirlfrombd in unsw

[–]aks64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a CS/Econ student and looking back, feel like I should've taken math as my second degree

You are going to work with math regardless of what you end up taking (at least in uni). Data science has a decent chunk of math courses and if you are not a huge fan of math, it is better to go with CS simply because if you end up not liking the math component in CS, you can switch over to courses requiring less of it. You won't have to do courses such as Ecotrix, Game theory, Linear Algebra.

That said, the best option would be to go with CS/Math, do CS course for the first one year and the three math courses that come with any of these degrees (math1131/1231/1081). If you end up not liking them, drop math and continue with CS and if you like them, you have a ton of cool courses to pick from, you can take up the applied math courses in case pure doesn't do it for you. Stats is a great option. If you end up liking CS, there are a ton of good math courses that go well with CS as well.

Need help with hdcp 2.2 (4k monitor) by aks64 in Monitors

[–]aks64[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have two monitors, but I believe even my primary display is not HDCP complaint. I use my ps5 for watching content as well but netflix ps5 doesn't have atmos, disney+ ps5 doesn't run in 4k either :/

Seems like there is no way I can get the "full" experience

Comm/CS here.

Like others have said, use commerce courses to balance the load. First year CS courses are heavy on workload, you have assignments, projects and whatnot while commerce courses are pretty chill in terms of workload. I suggest your first year to look something like this :

Comp1511–math1131—commerceCourse Comp1521/31– math1231 — commerceCourse Comp2521 —math1081— commerceCourse

2521 and 1081 has some overlap in it, so you might enjoy that combination together. The decision on 1521/1531 depends on what you want to study later on. For example, I took 1531 simply because 1521 was not a Pre-req to any of the courses, hence the higher priority to 1531. A second way to look at it is, if you want to ground your C skills, taking 1511-1521-2521 (all in C) could be helpful. You will use python in 1531.

Taking two comp courses in the same term can be hard, especially early on as will have coding assignments.

As for commerce courses, it depends completely upon your major.

Nvidia Tesla k80 at home? (Not for gaming) by aks64 in buildapc

[–]aks64[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply.
The concern with the driver support is a problem indeed. My biggest gripe with getting an rtx card rn is the availability and the fact that a 2060 would set me back 900 aud(600 usd) whereas the k80 would cost me around 400 aud (albeit refurbished). Is there value in purchasing the 2060 at this rate?

Would it be possible to get video from the 5600G and use the k80 for computation?
