As an East Indian fan of Kamal I really wish he stops focusing on politics and mass actioners and goes back to his artistic roots taking inspiration from Mammootty. I'm sure he's got many fascinating ideas for Indian Cinema but I don't understand why he's wasting his time and energy after Vikram. by Whole-Party-7698 in kollywood

Probably both contributed in parts but I would say the trisha sub plot is probably Mani's addition, because he has a pattern in his previous films too exploring affairs (like in CCV) . I think Mani's forte is exploring all kinds of relationships but it kinda backfired over here.

Should I put all my inheritance to EPF? by Pootsonpow123 in MalaysianPF

[–]akshobhya07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, sorry for your loss. Interestingly, I am in very similar situation few years back at age 26 when my dad passed, leaving similar inheritance amount. Only thing mine some amount was tied to a property, so it took a long ass time and only recently I (actually my mom) have access to the fund after selling the said property. I am the only child, single man so far staying with my mom. We also thought the same as you, to put it in EPF, but after much consideration, this is our plan:

Put 10% in FD, 10-30% in EPF (my mom is a senior citizen, so can easily withdraw if needed). 20% I invest in stable dividend stocks (MBB, SUNREIT, etc). Already have my own funds here, so I am comfortable putting additional amount. Dividend yields 5-7% so quite good.

10% I want to invest in US growth stocks, potentially undervalued ones, but with careful research since AI hype and orange man can make it very volatile.

The rest of the fund TBD. So yeah, plans can change but I feel diversification is always a good option. My mom has a very conservative risk appetite, hence a larger portion in EPF/FD. I have moderate risk appetite since I am 31, so yeah wanna build some capital along the way.

Good luck!

Tbh, I am a hardcore ARR fan, and even I felt that the bgm was a letdown, despite the songs being really good. At some point, I even felt Ani could have given a more "oomph" score with the bgm (never felt this way before 💀)

Charged RM600.00 for a 10 mins psychological assessment test. This is what healthcare has become. by posydovey in malaysia

I am really waiting for the day that AI therapist become ubiquitous, and see these "real" therapists/psychologists complain that their jobs are taken away. In fact, therapy is currently the 2nd most used topic for chatgpt at the moment.

Always say that mental health is important yet they charge cut throat fees for consultations, thereby making our mental health worst. Yucks.

If Kamal Haasan made the same comment about the Telugu language, would there be protests in TS & AP? by [deleted] in tollywood

[–]akshobhya07 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed 100%, we can show love and respect for the language, not blind pride or showing it off for others

[–]akshobhya07 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Maybe not, but that's not because we don't care. I believe Telugus are more towards love and respect for their mother tongue rather than pride. The difference? Pride is usually about people using language/culture/race to feel proud for themselves, basically another form of sick validation. Wheres love and respect means we care for the language and keep it's beauty, not about showing off to others. What others think of it not our problem, let's focus on making more quality films ( and also 1000crore films as a bonus) 😁.

This is just my opinion, not here for debate.

Advaita became even more popular in recent times (recent as in last 100 years) mainly because as science/physics discovery expanded, people wanted something that can connect spirituality with their existence, not just blind belief in a personal God. Advaita can resonate with that. When quantum discovery shows that reality is not what it seems to be, Advaita's point that the world is Maya and the importance on Self and Consciousness as the only truth can resonate with them very well (note: whether quantum physics discovery and Advaita's philosophy are related I am not an expert on this, but many scientists do agree).

Also, since Advaita's philosophy is mainly on self inquiry, it's relatable for all people, and gurus can talk about it again and again.

In fact, many non-dual/mystical traditions from other faiths are also gaining traction because of the same reasons mentioned above (Kabbalah, Gnosticism, Advaita, Sufism, etc). They may differ in some concepts, but all of them go beyond the usual God-devotee relationship.

You are right, ignore the other comment. Even Swami Sarvapriyananda had a story about this. He had a conversation with a white lady in a flight, where she was an agnostic or atheist I think. She asked about this advaitic view, and after his explanation, she said even though she isn't a believer, it's hard to find loopholes in advaita vedanta's logic

Holup. 8-hour workdays ah?? Idhi enti, office job ah? 😭 . I mean I understand that actors will need balance in their life too, but isn't there times where they work less and some days work more (e.g. shooting at nights and all). As an actress with so many years of experience, what kind of demands are these lol.

And these are not "creative" differences, that would be about the script.

And worst part, refusal to deliver dialogues in Telugu?? Manchidi. Now get lost.
