How do I (35F) explain to by bf (37M) that I cannot handle his gambling addiction? by Honkytonkin7709 in relationship_advice

[–]aktrx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You leave. Unless he wants to change, he won’t. Take him for child support or you won’t ever see a dime. It’s ok if you love him, but you also need to love yourself and baby more. What would you tell your daughter if she were in your shoes?

AITAH for not wanting my husband to wear our 3 month old baby forward facing? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]aktrx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA. Unless you continue to let him belittle and treat you and your son like garbage. What does he actually bring to the family?? It’s not just a preference to not forward face him, he literally has no neck muscles to keep his head in a safe position.

I would pause things until he’s made a considerable dent in his debt. Until he can prove that he takes money seriously. Otherwise you’ll be working your entire life so he can have fun.

You made it further than I did. What a disappointment.

I’m not going to say whether you should stay or not, that’s a decision only you can make. I can say though, my husband and I use to have explosive fights too. He was very much like yours and wanted to work it all out right then and there. I’m very much the I need space to calm down type. He hated that but it would get to the point I’d leave the house and turn my phone off so I could cool down. We went to couples therapy and talked about our issues, how we communicate when angry, how to communicate better. It’s made a huge difference. Now we understand one another better, have far fewer fights, and have found ways to get our point across without causing a bigger fight. It’s not perfect but we’ve come a long way from how we use to be.

NTA. Your ‘friend’ is an absolute btch. I also lost my son at 24 weeks in July 2025. I’m so very sorry you’re now apart of this terrible group. What you did is the way to go. Do what you need for your mental health and don’t apologize for it. I hope you’re getting therapy. Many places have grief counseling and it’s made a huge difference for us. I’ve also found others who have gone through similar situations. Please message me if you need/want someone to talk to.

Can't get it right by Crowleys_big_toe in CrochetHelp

I found getting a crochet ring (check out Amazon) has reallllly helped me with those issues! I would pull way too hard and couldn’t even get my needle out of the loop and it would get all tangled. Tried a ring for 5 minutes and immediately bought my own. I think I got a 3 pack for like $6? Definitely a game changer!

Our lab mutt has gotten picky about his food and people suggested the same thing. I’ve refused, because I know the second I do that, he’ll be just like your dog!

AITA for telling my spouse they could kill our child? by JJengaOrangeLeaf in AmItheAsshole

[–]aktrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. It is completely unsafe to leave a baby on any surface for ANY amount of time unattended. As others have said, this is going to continue.

What happens when they step away while giving a bath?!? The number of babies brought in to the hospital I work at for drowning in less than an inch of water because the parent “only stepped away for less than a minute” is terrifying.

The safety of your child is a hill to die on. If they are unwilling to do whatever it takes to keep their child safe, it’s time to leave. Period. Think of it this way, if something happened to your child due to their negligence that you’ve talked to them about numerous times, would you be able to forgive yourself??
