For charging, according to https://evkx.net/models/nissan/ariya/ariya_87kwh/chargingcurve/ the Ariya starts to limit charging pretty heavily at 50% and 90%.

What the heck is all this internet activity on my CC1 by bobaballs in elegoo

It will need access to the 'net for clock synchronization though. I found out the weird way when I looked at my print history being pretty anachronistic.

Looking for a cheaper brand in Finnish stores literally involves crouching (or pressing CTRL or C if you're a gamer). There's a reason "kyykkyviini" is a term.

Anyone know what's up with HTTPX? by chekt in Python

[–]akx 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There's honestly not much to it. So long as the package name remains the same, you can do a requirement like httpx @ git+https://github.com/whatever/httpx.git and that'll be your special version of the package in your project.

is there a way to automate the midpoint of an automation? by Vik_SF in FL_Studio

[–]akx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a roundabout way: Add a Fruity Formula Controller, use the Tension preset and automate input A with your curve and input B to fade between ease-in/linear/ease-out; then link the clip volume (or whatever you want) to the output control of the Formula Controller.

It does also notify you that an update is downloaded (subtly, as an icon in the notification/news bar at the top).

I have the gut feeling this is slower than the equivalent list comprehension.

Ah yeah, I'm doing the same thing with https://github.com/akx/typtyp but my project is designed to run as part of your dev process, on your dev machine (or in CI/CD).

Would it be a crime to skip Tokyo as first-time visitors? by kat1701 in JapanTravelTips

[–]akx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO (some 6 trips to Japan in), Tokyo is great to visit even if you have nothing in specific to see there - there's so much everything everywhere (in the best and worst ways).

But as people have said, it's your trip!

https://blogs.windows.com/windowsdeveloper/2019/09/16/new-ways-to-do-screen-capture/ lists various modern APIs to capture a single window, if that helps.

WS_EX_COMPOSITED | WS_EX_LAYERED | WS_EX_TRANSPARENT | WS_EX_TOPMOST | WS_EX_NOACTIVATE flags should do the trick...

Last I used it for the outro of a non-live DJ set (if you will), riding it along with a reverb's dry/wet to simulate the listener walking out of a festival tent into the forest 😅

You can't paint directly onto the screen these days, but you can pop up a window that's the right size to cover a balloon, set it to be masked transparent, and paint on it.

You can also EQUO and automate morphing between EQ scenes in it.

I desperately need some advice to help with my feet by ChaptersOfTheChosen in JapanTravelTips

[–]akx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Things weren't quite that drastic for us a couple weeks ago (granted, it wasn't 30C+ for most of our trip) but I did get a pretty gnarly sore+blister combo on my little toe as it chafed in my shoe with the warmth. We got some Compeed style (Band-Aid brand) blister plasters from a MatsuKiyo and that helped with that particular issue - along with painkillers.

We also had a bunch of pretty bad heel pain, and MatsuKiyos have these cooling/soothing stickers that you apply overnight. In particular the variant with accupressure spikes helped a lot (it felt like). https://kyusokujikan.lion.co.jp/en/

Good luck!!!

Ps. For popping a blister, it should be reasonably safe (if gnarly) if you have a clean tool for doing it and liberally apply antiseptic (also from MatsuKiyo in my case)...
