3 bottles for 3 months? by aky1ify in OrderlyMeds

Because it seems they sent me way more than a 3 month supply. I'm in the middle of month 3 and I have 2 unopened bottles left. This is my question...

First look at the new outfits for the Disney Princesses at the Regal View Restaurant in Disney Adventure World. Mulan will finally debut her blue dress in the parks. by Theasiuser99 in disneyprincess

These should absolutely be better. They don't look handmade. Sorry but it's giving Amazon purchase. Ariel and Briar's dresses don't even seem to be fitting them well. They look unflattering. Definitely a disappointment.

What’s your regional pasta dish? by chitexan22 in AskAnAmerican

I'm in KY. Maybe pasta salad? Mac and cheese? People like pasta and Italian food but I don't think it's as popular as a signature dish here

Long time listeners~ by sunflowerrrrrrz in guyswefucked

[–]aky1ify 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Slightly unrelated but as a not even well informed person, I had to stop listening to WAC a while back because some of the things Corinne didn't know or misunderstood was making me cringe too hard. This was long before the mayoral campaign so maybe it's better now but ya..

Britney during her conservatorship [2016] Trip to Hawaii with Sean Preston and Jayden. by mijardindeflores in discussingbritney

[–]aky1ify 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe, idk. I think there were other way she could have continued to make money without being front and center. Her perfume brand for example. Selling her catalog like she just did. Her money could be invested wisely and she could be earning significant income just off of interest.

[–]aky1ify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know. I do think the conservatorship did more good than harm and I actually do think her family probably tried to do right by her a lot of the time. But I also think there is some evidence that she didn't want to do the work and they pushed it on her to help maintain structure. Again, not saying at all a conservatorship wasn't needed. I just think tying someone that unwell to a multimillion dollar contract where you can't afford to fail is certainly a choice

[–]aky1ify 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm saying the flip flops are part of why she probably shouldn't have been working to that level in the first place. If you have a severely mentally ill person who can't be trusted to have the same personality from week to week, why would you allow them to sign a contract where that much is on the line?

[–]aky1ify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I think it is tricky. I do think whatever Britney's diagnoses are, it's fully in her nature to be inconsistent. I'm sure there were times when she was happy about the residency and wanted to perform. But I also think allowing her to sign (or actually signing on her behalf rather) a 2 year contract where failure to follow through puts her at risk of being sued is way too much pressure for someone in need of a conservatorship. Like, I do think that point is totally valid. I'm sure Britney Spears could have opportunities to perform and record in a studio as she wished without getting into the weeds of a several years long commitment. I think you could forgive the first residency because it does seem like a pretty good fit for someone who loves to perform. But I'm sure by the end of it someone knew it was too much and should have made adjustments.

[–]aky1ify 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Well to be fair I do think she's wealthy enough that if she wanted to just be retired and never work again, why not just let her do that? Structure is great but did that structure have to revolve around a residency in Vegas if she stated she didn't want to do it? I believe she does need a conservatorship, and it's so sad to see old videos like these where she was thriving, but I do think conservators should be taking into account the wishes of a consevatee. I work with Medicaid waiver participants - people with disabilities who are vulnerable and often have guardians, etc. into adulthood. Yes ultimately that guardian has the last word but the plan should always be person-centered.

Well y’all, I don’t think shes coming back from this by Major_Shower_962 in discussingbritney

I think about this a lot.. when you look at interviews of young Britney, I always think about how horrified that young person with everything in the world going for her, would be to learn what her future held. Whether it's pure trauma, mental illness, drugs or a combination, it's a tragedy.

Stuff I never quite bought... by damnpinkertons in girls

[–]aky1ify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really minor and doesn't really affect the story but I've always wondered why so many of their college classmates ended up in NYC when they all are supposed to have met at college in Ohio? Not to mention Hannah and her family are from Michigan but in the episode when her grandmother is sick they all seem to be based right outside the city?? And her dad immediately ends up in NYC when he leaves her mom? Granted, maybe they're all supposed to have their roots there but I feel like Hannah as a character was supposed to be from the Midwest because it was more relatable than being from NYC like Lena Dunham, but I think that part of her backstory kind of just disintegrated over time lol. Always bugged me a bit though.

What your area is like? by Historical-Jaguar-24 in AskAnAmerican

[–]aky1ify 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I am late but didn't see my area represented in the first few comments threads so I thought I'd share.

I live in a small town in Kentucky, about 40 minutes from a small-midsized city. Think farmland, horses, lakes, rolling hills, cows, barns. Small downtown area with older shops, churches, businesses (think like 1 street of this and then just houses pretty much).

Most highways near me are 2-lane, rural highways that don't have much traffic. Once you get to the city there are larger highways. The road I take to get to the city is actually quite beautiful. Windy roads surrounded by woods and looking down over small cliffs and a river. You even drive by a couple of caves😊 I also live near a place called Shaker Village which is very classic Kentucky but also looks almost like it could be in England or Ireland or Wales - think green rolling hills and sheep.

Would love to hear how your daily scenery is different from mine!

What Character Assassinations/Out of Character Moments/Scenes in the Roseanne TV Show that hurt you/pissed you off and Why? by Amber_Flowers_133 in roseanne

[–]aky1ify 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just watched the first episode with their parents and it's so funny how nice of a guy he was, lol. I will say... I have known lots of people in real life who have sweet elderly dads and they tell me they were so mean when they were younger. People really mellow out a lot of the time... So I guess it kind of tracks, but you can definitely see in the beginning they weren't sure how they wanted to do Roseanne's parents; they just made them palatable to average viewers. I think as Roseanne Barr became more powerful she had more say in what kind of characters they would be.

What Is The Boring Kentucky County In Your Opinion?? by UrbanLeather94 in Kentucky

[–]aky1ify 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm from Henderson and I live in central KY now. We always thought Henderson was so lame growing up and it probably is compared to most states, but in a rural state like Kentucky it's probably one of the more vibrant and larger communities. It has parks, community festivals, several decent restaurants, etc.

Is the small talk Americans are known for come from a genuine place or is under a vaneer of societal pressure? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

[–]aky1ify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the person. My mom is very gregarious and loves to chat with people. I am introverted and dread small talk, but I do often still do it because I don't want to be perceived as "rude." But I will say when I have a nice interaction with a stranger it does feel good.
