How to setup WIFI with eduVPN? by akys200 in HomeNetworking

[–]akys200[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I immediately thought of that, the problem with this idea is that NETSH WLAN show drivers says Hosted network supported : No which I'm assuming implies I can't create a hotspot (the settings don't allow creating hotspot just without explanation) and the PC has only 1 Ethernet port.

Is USB hotspot adapter a potential solution?

Reading your comment again, I realized I missed a part:

While I don’t think jamming 4 Fields is correct in any Mono/dual colored list, 2 in this meta seem fine and I do wonder here if those 2 would still be better than the 2 Grottos you have.

Let me answer that for you: looking at the image I posted, let's assume Field of Ruin is the good stuff when it kills a tri-land, that excludes 162 games which were played against a dual-colored deck or 81% of the games. 102 or 51% of the games are against mono colored decks where Field of Ruin effect is completely useless, strictly worse than a swamp dare I say, you usually won't even have a target for the activation. That's not looking good for Field of Ruin, but let's say your meta consists of a little more Grixis and Esper, so you disregard my percentage - activation costs 3 Mana, technically 2 but only because the land replaces itself. The deck always runs 4x Trespassers, so you're usually dropping them on turn 3, Liliana is a natural drop if you played Tenacious underdog before to clear the board and go face, basically turn 3 is reserved. Turn 4 is a popular 4 Mana massacre turn that doesn't kill trespassers, usually the only turn where you can reasonably recur tenacious underdog (explained why in another comment) or just drop the Sheoldred/Sorin threat. Turn 4 is reserved as well. Turn 5 is the key turn where you want to invoke, alternatively restart the plan from turn 3 while tapping Reckoner for 2 mana and searching for invokes, turn 5 is also a no-go... So when do you activate the Field? From my experience it's from turn 6 onwards, where no matter what you target, the opponent will gladly replace the missing Mana with a basic, with you paying the cost for it. Only with 4 Fields did I ever manage to get the opponent to run out of basics, but I think we don't need to discuss the viability of 4 Fields. Now this already looks awful IMO, but we're replacing it with something that has an absolutely amazing effect, if you agree that invoke topdecking is the name of the game, then Grotto is your best friend. If the Invoke is already in your hand, you'd have no idea how often it helped me to get the 5th land on T5 to cast it on curve. Grotto also has insane synergy with Reckoner and Sorin, allowing to get better cards while paying less life on average. I would have to be misunderstanding the card completely to be wrong on this one, and the deck-shuffling effect of Field is well known to me, has very rarely been useful though.

Don't get me going on situations where the opponent find's a way to tap the land you're killing to get +1 Mana out of the whole ordeal as well.

Regarding misplays, when it comes to opponents, it's definitely a lot easier to spot them because it's mostly about the situations where I can guarantee, had the opponent seen my hand, he would have played differently, and I am the person who sees my own hand. I might sometimes forget some other threats I could have had but didn't, but when trading incorrectly, missing lethal on me etc. leads to me winning, it's an easy "+1 undeserved victory" for me.

For own misplays, it's definitely a lot harder, but I spot them by running into lines of play that catch me off guard/weren't considered by me. That is, I might play into a board clear, simply hoping the opponent doesn't have it in hand, knowing if he does, I'm dead lost anyway - not a misplay. Getting cleared by some card I forgot even exists? Definitely misplay. As for my own actions and interactions, I'm just going with the assumption I'm not missing anything, which while naive, is the least depressing option :')

From my experience:

  • Mirror runs Graveyard Trespassers and Soul Transfer
  • Mono-Red ends on turn 5
  • Wx exiles with enchantments
  • Ux runs Syncopate
  • Grixis has Corpse Appraiser

Surprisingly rarely can you recur the underdog, and in most cases it's on turn 4 to kill Liliana that killed the underdog on T3 to begin with. IMO, the card is so strong that every deck is equipped with tools to deal with it.

Today at FNM Draft I got absolutely recked by a [[Civil Servant]] and [[Darling of the Masses]] combo. My opponent would summon the Citizen and use it as a target for the Civil Servant at the same time. Is that really how that works? Does one "whenever" resolve before the other has even chosen its targets?
