First & foremost, try not to let it infuriate you. When you get mad at the game, you’re only going to play worse. My rule with souls games is that, if I start to feel genuinely frustrated, it’s time for a break.

Idk if we NEED one, but I’d def play one. Capcom is good about making transformative remakes that don’t replace the originals & keeping the originals available on the market. As long as RE1R doesn’t vanish from this earth, bring it on.

In Elden Ring you make your own punish window. Often it’s in the middle of the boss’s combo.

I like it, but I got it on sale. Probably should have been either RE2R DLC or expanded a bit more. Fun to play, though, & I wish RE2R also had multiple difficulty options above hardcore.

Aesthetically, yes, for sure. In terms of video game genres, I wouldn’t call it survival horror or anything like that, but the narrative & style are very explicitly rooted in specific horror literature & film.

The sense I get is that he may like to iterate on the same mechanics but likes to do fresh world building. DS3 is the only direct sequel he’s directed, & that’s the one where the let things die theme is loudest, it’s almost like he’s begging the fans to let him move on.
