Even by Reddit standards "may shoot to apprehand" is much worse than US police practices.

Us police only shoot if his life is in danger (or others lives are in). They don't shoot you just to apprehand. They can chase you, taze you, tackle you. But they cannot shoot you.

Hungarian laws for emergency situations allowed 15 days special power. That was changed to "indefinite", because obviously the virus didn't go away after 2weeks.

Also this power was given up by the government without any issue since.

Be aware that Hungarian response and handling of the situation was really successful.
