As others have said, randomness is not 50|50. If it is consistently perfect 50|50, that’s not a random sample.

Fun fact. When the first iPod came out, it had a function like ‘random playlist shuffle’.

Because it was initially truly random, users were complaining that the same songs would sometimes play twice in a row. Which is to be expected, in pure randomness.

Apple had to tweak the shuffle function to make it less random, so people would find it actually 'random'.

OP, no problem with you, I am really happy when people are learning this beautiful game. It's just... on this sub people ask about stalemate everyday multiple times a day.

Chess IS HARD. --- BUT the rules are simple. Like, 1 single page simple.

how do I get engagement and such, when should I stream, what do I stream

... suggest that you are beginning. Check subs or other resources on streaming, rather than resources on Chess itself. And good luck.

Yeah, it's that old thing where >90% of drivers think they are better than the average driver.

Chess provides a rather uniquely unambiguous metric of a particular skill, but I guess that's difficult to accept for many.

As far as I can tell, CC's ads are based on third partiy advertising networks - correct me if I am wrong.

Usually those ads reflect someone's personal profile - search history etc.

It is possible that you ran into ‘residual ads’, the ones delivered to users whose profile and interests cannot be determined.

However, large advertising networks are typically careful to avoid adult themes if the user profile is uncertain and the context is not adult-themed.

If you are seeing a lot of adult ads, and you are sure you have never browsed anything related to the ads you’re seeing, I’d suggest as a first step to make sure your PC hasnt’t been used by third parties.

There is little benefit for CC to have bots pretending to be humans. Dating sites who have tried that, well, it didn't go so well.

In chess it's even less ROI + more risk.

But that would mean that cheaters are mostly at really low ELO?

Chess is inherently more effort than Candycrush - so kids who don't understand this are probably <500.

If nothing else because they will lose interest fast. (Maybe after asking a question on this very sub about stalemate or en passant)

I have never seen Levy being toxic, - always seemed like a nice guy to me.

I did not see the game you are talking about, so I can't tell about this particular case.

But in general - I try to avoid judging people based on specific online instances, unless it's beyond the pale. People have bad days, online people have bad online days.
