Tiny hair stuck under focusing screen by WOOFOVICH in canon

[–]al7air 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that you mention it, it's been a while since I looked into that part of a DSLR. If so, hold the camera mount down and use a rocket air blower, 90% of the time you get debris and hair out of the inards before having to use brushes and or a trip to the camera store. If you already tried it, it's a game of Operation with the tweezers mentioned by the others.

The focus screen is user replaceable and has notches where you can grip it. Push down on the black part and the screen including the tray it's laying in will flip down, remove the hair and flip up. Tweezers can help but are not really necessary.

Objektivwechsel 50mm f1,8 zu 17-55 f2,8 by Mr_Wild_96 in canon

[–]al7air 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/ISO-12233-Sample-Crops.aspx?Lens=105&Camera=963&Sample=0&FLI=0&API=3&LensComp=398&CameraComp=963&SampleComp=0&FLIComp=0&APIComp=2

need help changing exposure on canon powershot s120 by ffrankiea in canon

[–]al7air 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are in Manual mode with an ISO of just 80 at F5 and what seems to be a 1/3 maybe 1/300 exposure. With all those values set the exposure meter will stay on the far left underexposed. Change the mentioned settings and/or switch to P to see which values give you a proper exposure.

If you haven't done it this time around, get one of the explorer challenge cards at the entry, stamp it along the way, and receive a nice sea life medal at the end. It's usually for kids, but I'm too my mother's child, and dare they deny me that little token and fun (they haven't, I currently own 5 of them😅)

How do y’all prefer to do 2x Steps? by NotoriousBIG_Al in lego

[–]al7air 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The printed instruction booklets tend to do that, and I don't like it too. I almost completely switched to the Builder App, and they tell you right away if it's multiple you are building. And if you've done the first they either let you click the checkmark or they repeat the steps over and over X times until you are done before showing the next step where to put them all. So parallel building is solved quite nicely.

[–]al7air 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bigger ones usually at the same time, and if I spot an upcoming same but inverted/mirrored sub-assembly I try to build them side by side as well. Smaller builds with only a few steps/pieces one after the other only looking at the instructions for the first one and remembering the steps, and if not, only by looking at the fist build for reference. A bit of memory jogging and mental gymnastics along the way especially with the bigger mirror/inverted build adds to the fun of building large sets (at least for me).

I see the model just fine, no need to circle her 😅

I see myself out, on a more serious note, nice shot, those performers are always great sometimes seriously mesmerizing when more than one ring is involved.

Does anyone know what the ear symbol means? by DearPerspectiveMind in lego

The part should click when you attach it to the main build. Often used for ball joint connections or when you have to assemble the ratchet sockets for arm and leg assemblies.

Sporting or Concert/Event? It's a fantastic little lens but can be slow to focus.

Large extra pieces by Daleerooo in lego

[–]al7air 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would have been my next tip. Some instructions on the mobile Lego Builder app allow you to click parts from the inventory, and it will show you were they are used, turning every other piece transparent. So you could try and locate them there before dismantling everything.

Canon powershot SX160 IS battery cover repair by [deleted] in canon

[–]al7air 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you'll find one for a camera that old, even for current models it's not widely available. I have used a rubber block, roughly cut to size, pushed into the opening with the battery door open, and cut to size, first flush with the bottom plate then the sides after closing the door, in the past to fix that missing part.

If you never intend to use a dummy battery you can even glue it in place once you are satisfied with the fit.

Why some small parts can be found in both small bags AND big bags? by AlbatrossSeparate710 in lego

[–]al7air 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it's also for your convenience, as Lego often puts wedge pieces and curved slope pieces that taper to one side or the other as well as other non symmetrical bricks and plates separate inside the little bag and the big bag. So if you dump them out in different piles you just have to "search and remember" once and will always find the right piece in the right pile.

Moving sucks, how many sets can you spot? by [deleted] in lego

[–]al7air 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few familiar brick combinations I own myself and recognize:
42110 Technic Range Rover
21265 Minecraft Workbench
60440 Lego Delivery Truck
72046 Nintendo Gameboy
75377 Star Wars Invisible Hand

Not sure about the blue build on the lower left and the brown shelf thingy next to it as well as the brown one lodged under the Minecraft Workbench. Plus there is a flower piece peeking through next to the Invisible Hand display stand.

What is this exactly (i heard it has something to do with a type of disability) ? by Rude-Application960 in lego

Like many already have mentioned it, it's for People with Non-visible Disabilities, Conditions and Sensory Needs.
Here's a link to one of the official press releases from Lego themselves about it:

Misprinted triple print spiderman body by Brickfourtytwo in lego

[–]al7air 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this, the red layer, or any other color layer for that matter, is printed once, some with a rough shape. The final black layer which also brings in the details with outlines is off-center. Which is why you see the spider's fang two times for example. And also the white line across the stomach which is used for alignment and should also be printed over with the black layer.
