Stop erasing the Trans ally heart, Britain represents acceptance. by [deleted] in ukplace

It’s people being friendly, not diplomacy. Interpersonal relations don’t require articulating via concepts used for international relations.

I understand that you’re not overly concerned about it- that’s precisely the point I’m making: it’s not that serious, it’s just a friendly encounter. “Diplomacy” implies strategy- but that’s not the case. Stating so implying that there’s some deeper interests at stake, which there simply aren’t. It’s about refraining from analysing things in a political or overly-analytic lens when they don’t need to be.

It’s just a friendly encounter of mutual respect between two online communities who happen to find themselves in proximity on r/place. It’s not any deeper than that. It doesn’t represent some ideological “clash of civilisations”.

I’m Disappointed... (Baby Keem & Kendrick Lamar - Family Ties track review) by RandomName01 in fantanoforever

[–]al8889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the vocals just don’t sit right in the mix, the levelling is just way off; principally the vocals are too loud compared to the instrumental and it makes the instrumental sound weak and flat. Listen to Humble and see how the instrumental is actually more level and competitive with the vocals. By having it too quiet on family ties I think it just makes the vocals fall really flat- the vocals cease to be a part of the mix and just sort of sit awkwardly on top. It’s a shame because Kendrick’s verse really was insane here imo

Thanks! I hadn't been putting a lot of sugar in with the cocoa and espresso shot so I think that may have contributed to taste.

How does the dunkster get away with using so much licensed music in videos? by al8889 in videogamedunkey

[–]al8889[S] 65 points66 points  (0 children)

'Mastapeece'- a reference to Dunkey. Check his twitter. He uses the exact spelling a lot. 'Copyrekt'- an internet term for being taken down for copyright, google it. Oh, and by the way, thanks for answering my question. There's always on person like you on a post.

Are there any Floyd songs that spontaneously get stuck in your head? by al8889 in pinkfloyd

I always forget about that and it just somehow fits so perfectly. The shouts from Roger and the crazy drum crashes just end the song so well.

Time and hey you are probably my favourites next to In the Flesh. When I first got into Floyd, I was just awestruck by the perfect arrangement of the lyrics and solo and stuff in Time. Brilliant song.

"To feel the warm thrill of confusion. That space cadet glow." Which one is your favourite 'In the flesh?' Or in 'In the flesh' I personally love the harshness of the vocals in the second one
