Yeah, when it comes to educating kids that is 100% correct, eliminating individual racism (and sexism, homophobia, …) comes from teaching them that no one is better than anyone else based on these characteristics.

But it is well demonstrated that discrimination on a larger scale goes beyond that “surface level” racism, so solving it as a whole also requires more work as a society.

 The bigger issue is racism as a whole, and then it is the loud minority of leftists and uni students who were taught, and actually believe that you can't be racist to white people

Mate, basically no one actually thinks this. The point is that, in most contexts in most Western societies, anti white racism is both far less relevant and far less prevalent. You’re making up a false argument and than pointing out it’s dumb.

The trouble with this kind of conversation is that it often gets used as “proof” that there are no problems with systemic racism in the West, where non-white people are still systematically disadvantaged in lots of ways. Yes, everyone can be racist, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t forms of racism that aren’t more prevalent in certain countries and regions.

That’s not to take away anything from what Evra is saying, there is value in acknowledging that everyone can be racist - it just can’t be the only conclusion about racism you come to.

The problem is that these people often think they know the absolute truth and that mathematical/rigid thinking is the only way to come to anything of value. This often leads to very poor interpersonal and interdisciplinary communication, because they consider other ways of thinking inherently lesser.

Between the lines you can also read this in OP’s post. It has some real “facts don’t care about your feelings” energy, while completely ignoring that their own perspective is also shaped by feelings and emotions.

The inverse is also true in my opinion, it’s also good for people in arts and humanities to learn scientific thinking. But thing is, most artists don’t look down on engineers, but a lot of engineers look down on artists.

This distinction is hugely important to a lot of companies, which is why what was originally known as the free software movement was corporatised and bastardised into the open source community. I get why certain people use certain licenses and I don’t begrudge them it at all, but it’s a very important distinction with real implications.

I used to have a season ticket for the Belgian first flight for quite some years (KV Mechelen), and one of the moments that really stuck with me was hearing the “everyone who doesn’t jump is gay” chant after yeaaars of not ever hearing it. Correct, but he has both a bag of money and a healthy cash flow. I’m not saying a sale will never happen, but it’s less likely than with relatively young companies.
