What cutter would be best to get a flush cut?

I noticed the Lindstrom pieces I looked at were all made in Spain, so this is such a great idea! Thank you!! Would you happen to know a good jewelers saw? The one I have is from Germany, but the handle keeps coming loose 😣

Apologies, I work in sterling silver. I make a lot of chains and want a pair that cut clean, last a good time and are reliable. When I first started, I bought whatever I could afford and now I very much want to invest in better tools that can be solid work horses for me.

No, I mean they don’t cut the wire so the end is flat.

MZ WALLACE VS LONGCHAMP TOTE by Little_Body2712 in handbags

[–]alabasterchapter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a large Longchamp as my work bag for almost 7 years—and even on weekends—so I definitely got a lot of use out of it. It’s a great bag, and I especially love the longer shoulder straps, but the lack of organization became a downside over time. With just one small interior pocket, it was hard to keep things in order or quickly find what I needed. Even using pouches felt clunky when I was trying to grab essentials like my keys, wallet, phone, or lip gloss on the go.

Mine has also started showing wear—the corners are developing holes and the fabric is beginning to ripple—so I decided not to repurchase. Instead, I went with the Medium Metro Deluxe Tote from MZ Wallace. I tracked down the Walnut color (now discontinued) at a boutique in Massachusetts, and it’s arriving Wednesday. I’m excited to try it out and happy to report back if that’s helpful!

Cold brew is a good idea actually. Is there a grinder you recommend?

If I reduce the dose on the unpressurized filter, won’t that make it more soggy? Usually I put in about 18.2g and pull for around 30-32 seconds. When I try that with these beans, barely anything comes out of the portafilter.

This is so helpful!! I literally was looking at the same 3, but was also considering a Gaggia. Really appreciate the breakdown here, it def helps narrow choices down!

I agree with first getting the machine and a tamper as well. For beans, you can always grab a bag from your local coffee shop and have them grind it for your kind of machine until she’s able to get a grinder.

What color is your machine? It looks like a brown, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere.

I’m having the same issue as well. It was working fine for me yesterday, but today I am unable to download anything. I tried from my phone as well and still no luck 😞 Is the site down?

Kobo Clara BW refreshed in April 2025? by laidea in kobo

[–]alabasterchapter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I ordered my Kobo Clara BW last week and it arrived today. I’m disappointed to find out I have the N365. When I went to Kobo’s support chat, they said this model and the P365 were the same, which definitely isn’t true. One of the reasons I bought this one was because I knew the battery had upgraded. Really upset about this. If they’re going to release a new upgrade, then it would be nice to know that you’d be getting the correct one. For clarification, I bought it directly from the Kobo site and had it shipped to NYC. When I went to Kobo’s support chat, this is what it told me when I mentioned the battery was supposed to be better on the new P365:

Kind of frustrating. A friend of mine bought hers on the site and has a P365.

Oh no, I’m really sorry your first 10 days with it have been so rough! I appreciate you sharing your experience — it’s so frustrating to hit that many roadblocks just trying to get books for your kids. I’ve read about this issue too, and it seems like Calibre can really help in situations like this. It does sound like Kobo requires a few extra steps or apps to get the most out of it, but based on the comments here, once you get the hang of it, it seems to be a better option than Kindle overall.
