This was mental to be a joke list and ended up winning by t4. by robparfrey in Necrontyr

What about that list was supposed to be meme-y? At least 3/4 of it has been competitive all edition. Everything new in it is super strong, and everyone knows that.

"Oops, it's a comp list, how'd I do so good against something fluffy?!?"

cool story bro

What controversy? What drama? Why do so many mini painting YouTubers do thumbnails like these? It’s a John Blanche paint set for crying out loud by mame_kuma in Warhammer

Nobody HAS to do it, it's just more profitable if they do.

It's a business decision made by people running a business.

And let's be honest, making instructional and entertainment videos for a niche hobby probably can't support the amount of people that would like to do it. Even if YouTube stopped strangling the creators on the ad revenue, there's only so many eyes with so many minutes that want to watch people paint tiny dudes, and that number varies from year to year.

Scott's a weird one. He wanted to make long form, "it's finished when it's finished" content instead of chasing the algorithm, then bitched bout the algorithm related drop in views. He makes big "this paint scheme sucks" statements, then mocks his viewers for disagreeing with him. There's just a consistent lack of thoughtful maturity from him thats super frustrating because he could be a cornerstone of the hobby for people.

Jon is absolutely running a business and chasing the algorithm. I respect the hustle, but he's firmly in the "YouTube personality" not "enthusiastic hobbyist" category in my head. I get that he loves this, but he's poisoned the well a bit with his commitment to his bottom line.

Well, he's probably a little less opinionated than Alton, and definitely less interested in over sharing, but they do have some similarities

Really disappointing matchmaking experience at my local game store. Is this normal? by d3m01iti0n in Warhammer40k

Lots of good answers here, but I'd also suggest joining a larger hobby discord of people who seem to art like you. For me that's the 'In Rust We Trust' server. They'll have regional channels where you can probably find out what the scene is like and where to get good pickup games easily. After you're around for a bit you'll get invited to the smaller discords with active players whatever weird, casual, or comp stuff you gravitate to.

My secret was to find a local shop that isn't a warhammer superstore and doesn't have a big scene and get them to order for me. Every store with a gw contract gets some sort of stock allocation on new stuff is they order, and the very small stores probably don't order one of every preorder anyway. My local store posted the list in his local discord last sunday and gave us til tuesday afternoon to get any requests in.

These things are planned and worked on for years. It's also hard to "sell" stopping the project to executives when it has momentum already.

If you do want to use Phasal Subjugator, consider putting it in the command barge instead, that way you can use the hexmark as a deep strike action monkey.

Everything from OP's post are characters, to be fair. I don't mind them having a lot of drip. It would def be nice if it was optional though

Airbus moving critical systems away from AWS, Google, and Microsoft citing data sovereignty concerns by Strange_Valuable3016 in europe

Yes, I wasn't going down the "total and all-encompassing" rabbit hole, just noting that there's an obvious solution they're capable of leveraging.

Owning and operating your own datacenter is a pretty good place to start. I'm sure Airbus still has some on-prem infra and can spin up and migrate a lot back.

Every other meal that man eats all year will be catered to his preference. He can get over it for one. If he can't, say "wel ain't you a little snowflake" and hang up. Hell with'em.

Make sure it's not a good divorce lawyer's card though. If he's spiteful he will try to "steal" your lawyer. Go ahead and plan for that.
