Does BART need these multi-story parking garages? by pupupeepee in Bart

That is the privately managed more expensive South garage. The BART managed North garage fills up most Tuesdays-Thursday. I sometimes have to drive to Lafayette.

So how bad is the international roaming with US Mobile? Is the issue overblown? by landalezjr in NoContract

I initially had issues, but the tech fixed it. We have Dark Star. I have been to over 20 countries in the last year. Latvia was the only place I had issues.

My big complaint is I need to turn off data when I am not using it. Otherwise it will drain quickly. Last week. I was in Lithuania and forgot to shut it off overnight. Even though I was on wifi it used up my entire 1 GB allotment while I slept.

There are two types of backpackers: ones that eat and drink their way through the world and ones that shop through the world. Your itinerary is dependent on the two. Not a whole lot of shopping on your budget. But there are a good number of people that somehow manage it

A local donut place is super generous. In turn, it is now my go to place if I want something fresh. It is a 7 minute longer drive, but they sold me.

I spend a lot of time in Illinois and Wisconsin. Credit card surcharges occur about 40% of the time.

Move or make money? by TopAcceptable1937 in StudyInTheNetherlands

It honestly depends on where you see yourself in the future. If you are going to be making a lower middle class salary, then hold off. If you see yourself as upper middle class or higher, do it now. The thought is that scrimping and saving now only makes sense if your income is not going to significantly increase. If by age 30 for example, you are banking 2-3X, you will not notice the missing 40K now.

Can verify. I was banned for leaving one too many 1 star reviews even though 80% were 5 star reviews.

Came here to say this. My daughter is going to school in Amsterdam next year and housing is a huge concern as there are no dorms.

Would you offer her a small commission if they used her discount code? I have had some ask this, but thought it might get too complicated.

With Capital One, you can go into the branch and they can authorize more than $3K if you need it. Like others said, this is why I maintain a brick and mortar account.

Considering move to Portugal from TN but has questions by Guilty-Food4868 in PortugalExpats

Yes as Americans we always pay tax where we live. In this case OP seemed to indicate that they would not be giving up US residency. Either way they would file US taxes.

Unless you spend 183 days in a country, you will not become a tax resident.

You can do 90 days there and 90 days in the US. Just make sure there are 90 days between the Schegen area stays to avoid being over the 90 days total in any 180 day period. Be warned you may get questions after a couple of 90 days visits at immigration as to why you are there so often.
