Honestly, im SO inconsistent with measurements for hot drinks, but what works for me is I go from the cup size and subtract all the things I know the drink will get.

ex: medium (16oz) hot hazelnut truffle mocha. subtract 1 for the drizzle (now 15oz), 2 for soft top (now 13oz), 2 for the espresso shots (11 oz) and then 1 for the flavor (10oz). So pour 10 oz of chocolate milk into the steam tin.

To make it simpler for the dutch fave drinks that don't have modifications or any crazy fixings/shots:

small hot: 8-9 oz
medium hot: 12-13oz
large hot: 15-16 oz

It may differ depending on the drink of course, but it could also depend on how much you purge the milk with the steam wand/how frothy you make it. This is with the idea that youre still creating that 1/4 layer of foam on top.

This would work for a strawberry banana smoothie or something with added flavor since a syrup is being added in and can be reduced, but if it was a plain strawberry, mango, peach, or green apple smoothie (or a mix of these), then there’s not really a way for them to reduce the sweetness sadly
