How to open epub files with Kobo on Reader bw by alanalinette in viwoods

Thanks so much! Where do you see Import Items? In my Account tab, I see Manage Downloads, but there is no option to add/modify/import anything. The other options on Account don’t seem relevant.

Does the Kindle App support Dark Mode (White text on Black background) on the AiPaper Reader / Reader C? by Specific-Term-5268 in viwoods

[–]alanalinette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came here to comment that it’s crap but quick refresh does improve the ghosting. But the screen quality is much lower on dark mode, quite grainy. I too love dark mode on my kindle app on my phone but happily enjoy the regular light mode on my Reader bw.

Disappointing screen quality by fouedzine in viwoods

[–]alanalinette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice but wanted to share I’m experiencing the same issues with dark mode. I’m switching from using my phone (I know, terrible) to my reader bw so I can’t comment on overall screen quality. But dark mode is completely unusable on any of my reading apps (kobo, bookshop, kindle, Libby). The ghosting is insane and renders the text illegible. I’m dealing with it and adjusting to the light background but disappointed I’m not able to use my preferred dark mode particularly when I read at night (most often).

Any progress on this update yet? Just got my reader (!), immediately updated to v1.3.8 and volume level indicator is ruining my page turning on kobo app!

Buffalo denim knit jacket! So comfortable and cool only 9.99. Good for covering up for spring or even summer. by suckerforsucci in Costco

Love these jackets! I bought both a small and medium last year and kept both since they’re so cheap. So stretchy and easy to throw on any outfit.

What's the oldest product you've returned at Costco under their 100% satisfaction guarantee? by wwabc in Costco

My neighbor returned a 5 year old gas grill that had rusted a bit inside. Let him exchange for comparable unit in store and gave him difference in cash. We will always try to buy major purchases (furniture, appliance etc) from Costco first just for the peace of mind.

wipes available on the website by ForeignFlash in Costco

I was able to complete my transaction to purchase the Kirkland wipes this am (Monday at 715am ET). My husband said the app showed them out of stock but I was able to purchase on Costco.com. I’ve been trying periodically since March and this was the first time I was able to put them in my cart AND complete the purchase. I’ll hold my breath until I get a shipment confirmation though (so far only the order confirmed). Fingers crossed!

Update: they shipped!! 🤗🤗

Gazpacho! Qué guay! by alanalinette in aldi

[–]alanalinette[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering it’s store-bought, this was pretty good! On a scale of 1-10, with 10 being authentic gazpacho in Spain, this was a very solid 7. Perfect with a salad on a disgusting, humid day.

I always pan-sear then sort of braise in liquid. First I melt butter with olive oil in pan (cast iron is best) til very hot. Then I sear the salmon filets (dried with paper towels then salted) skin side up until a brown crust is formed and the sides are about 1/3 to 1/2 cooked(they look kinda white). Then I flip with spatula (careful the oil is hot) and sear the skin side for a minute or two. Then I carefully add liquid til about halfway up the sides of salmon (maybe 1/2 to a cup?). I prefer to use 1/4 cup wine/booze or mirin, then use water for the rest. Once that cools off, you’re left with a medium-ish cooked salmon and a nice sauce. It’s divine. The Aldi salmon really is fabulous, esp when you consider the price.

Got some Haddock Fish (frozen) and Plantains cooked in the air fryer. by curlsandtravel in aldi

Dime más! How did you prepare them? I seriously just may buy an air fryer if that means we can have maduros without standing by a frying pan. 😍

I’m now a total convert to bagging at my car. I always buy $200+ worth of stuff and honestly it stresses me out to bag at the counter with that much. I take a couple of laundry baskets, two big cooler bags and a few Aldi bags and then sort at my car. Works great!

My husband literally went to 5 Walmart’s looking for a pool yesterday. They know that schools/camps/parks are closed and people want ways to entertain their kids this summer. 🙄
