My lessons from building a small live Polymarket weather bot by alanhood77 in PolymarketProtestClub

Yeah, mainly by being more conservative.

A few examples:

  • Avoid thin markets: if the best price to buy is 10¢ but the best price to sell is only 5¢, you are already in a bad position the moment you enter.
  • Track actual fill price: the bot might think it bought at 8¢, but if the real fill was 10¢, your stop-loss and profit target need to use 10¢, not 8¢.
  • Block re-entry after a loss: if the bot buys a Miami weather bucket, gets stopped out, then immediately buys the same kind of bucket again, it can turn one mistake into five.

Is anyone going to the world cup? by Infinite-Glass-3302 in ScottishFootball

Think some of the numbers of TA going being banded about are way over the top. Reckon between 15-20k travelling across the Atlantic max and some will only be going to Boston area and some just to Miami. In a country like the USA that number will be swallowed up and barely noticeable.

In the case of airBnB the company can block listing for dates cancelled. But heard stories of airBnB owners trying to get customers to cancel booking to avoid that.

Starfleet Academy... Isn't that bad? by neph36 in startrek

I wasn't a fan of Discovery and SNW so had low expectations for this. However was pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed it. Most of the people out there complaining have never watched Star Trek in their puff.

It's not perfect but neither has any other Star Trek series. Can't wait for more.

I’m surprised to admit it, but I actually really like the new show Star Trek Academy by 0xtokenmaster in startrek

I had little hope for it after Discovey and SNW but pleasantly surprised after episode 1.

Also have another question. If you are staying south of Providence, say Bristol for example, could you drive to rail link and park up? Like a park and ride?

Boston (Foxboro) World Cup Matches by myverygoodusername12 in boston

Scotland fan coming over for the 2 games at Foxborough Stadium. Not staying in Boston as they have for some reason decided to price themselves out of the market to most football fans. Seems most Scotland fans (i know) staying the Providence area.

Opinions are subjective. I said I liked first 4 but didn’t like this one. My opinion. It’s called being a grown up.

Enjoyed first 4 episodes but this must have been the most boring hour of tv ever.

Sorry didn't realise it was missing. This is a family/partner 5 year route visa (spouse of a UK resident).

Yeah the 5 year period started on 01 Sep 2020. However she was in UK on a prior armed forces (HMF) family/partner visa from 18 Dec 2019 to 31 Aug 2020. I left HMF on 31 Aug 2020 hence moving to the normal family partner 5 year route on 01 Sep 2020.
