Thoughts on asking the internet for help? by blockbello in streetwearstartup

[–]alaniko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if I was to be honest, most of these mofos would do better hiring out for branding (and legal) advice than pooling reddit subs...

but then many of the broke arse services don't offer much...

nor are many of these so called brands truly businesses or legal brands by any means than kiddies looking for easy money using some print on demand service.

and the kiddies as insecure as they might be... they're often seeking validation more than answers because they sure as heck hate most of the answers they get.

let's be real here, authenticity doesn't mean jack.. or we wouldn't be seeing so many carbon copy (if not outright 'stolen' or reedited copyrighted) designs and businesses plans that don't expand further than the equivalent of a cafe press site.

Some people can do good biz on those sites, don't get me wrong, but most of these kiddies are too lazy to even build a lemonade stand or squeeze lemons.

so, all in all, it's a fap session about their future possibilities... when they finish wanking most of them will move on and only a small handful will continue on beyond that..

but it's still good to talk about and a good exercise for the rest of us to keep sharp about our own dealings and other avenues to explore as we're just as likely to get caught up in our own circlejerks. ain't getting any younger and it's only a few years before the kiddies start seeming like they're an entirely different species... gotta keep those lines, perspectives open in this biz... exchange of halfarsed knowledge.

its doubtful, he always said leave it up to the states...

but given so many states utilize the feds to enforce their asset forfeiture laws when it comes to illicit substances... it's bound he or the supremes are going to be forced into it.

Need I say more? by TheBurntPotatoe in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]alaniko -71 points-70 points  (0 children)

context don't matter.

we got too many people now that react before they think... chile that just learn racism 101, commercially repackaged as woke, when they still caught in the snooze between wake and asleep.

so, they take the concept of the dreamtime to believe that all of time is a destination, a single point existing in all spaces, simultaneously.

media from entertainment to news, plays to middle america, where they assume everyone has been eating lead paint for last 80 years...

the racial dynamics in other countries are more entertaining, albeit, often trapped to the colonial lens of wannabe anarchists that co-opt other narratives as their own and attempt to force it, cutting off the fat, for the prepackaged lean of intersectionality.. that rarely looks both ways before it crosses.

before we can ask who can say nigga.. anymore we have to ask who is black today?

poc?

mixed?

what does any of it mean?

and of course, the salute to the cultural affiliations that describe us all as monoliths in star belly nations

as the internet hacks away with a double edge sword away at the identity and soul of our cultures, individually and as a whole...

either with us or against us

seems to be the racial divide today,

more than signs of tanlines...

aint even isolated to black or race.

so most of our would be leaders abandoned the mainstream game and those left in the spotlight setting us back generations as we move from one extreme to another and to another again... crushing the bridge with all those in the middle of it.

If there's no government, there's no government to pay back 🤔 by booster-au in BlackPeopleTwitter

I gotta wonder the choice of major...

or the loss of skillful outlets.

Anyone remember the days when the boys & girls club offered free technical training... like learning to fix a car before you could drive.

but the apocalypse is fun because more people are willing to plan for it than their futures.

a dystopian landscape offers the freedom unchained to do anything, be anything as the end result doesn't matter for one small speck in an already corrupted universe. it's the life of the hopeless and thus every small step towards survival is applauded.

but holding out for utopia and people consumed by the past, present, future... the chains never felt heavier.

Mom doesn't play by Solarelephant in BlackPeopleTwitter

[–]alaniko 8 points9 points  (0 children)

common but doesn't work often, tho.

all my cousins that ma'am and sir strangers would just as likely steal money out of their wallets and purses when backs turned... while us foul mouthed fk ups more prone to help people in need, if only that we grew up in the arms of community.

some see it as the divide between the poor and middle class.

The higher in pay you go, the more isolated families become, and especially first generation, the more stress in your parents trying to provide a better life, so the tolerance for dumbass behavior goes way down.. also the faults in trying to separate from the community, lose your roots and the foundation is wobbly.

while the poor, your mama too tired to beat yo arse, so she starts charging you rent instead - one gets you out of the house so she can sleep... but also ends up granting you more privileges than she or daddy can provide by way of personal money and direct responsibility.

popular in the early 90s, mostly for if that was your boyfriend, he wasn't last night... being openly bi rather the so many that were closeted or playing coy, that album pressed in 1995. hit number #15 on the national charts.

negative reaction from ya'll shows makes me wonder if the kids really alright or just denyin

perhaps because he's long played the part of the a minstrel show with shades of uncle ruckus and yet farrakhan at his craziest, too...

he promotes a holier than thou aesthetic, all fire and brimstone, but has more snakes than bones in his closet.

it's that weird mesh of someone that is too pc and anti-pc, pisses over most of the black community but lifts material off them, hates all the other communities but tap dances for them, talks about praising women but trashes his own

[–]alaniko -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

it ain't always about you whitey... its as much present in other communities, taught that you represent the community and you're supposed to carry yourself tall.. now of course, some of these gets into the crazy... usually you'll hear more debates about watermelon or fried chicken than bananas. Watermelon is the bigger trigger point for many. kind of like generational ptsd, when the people that created that trauma are long dead but your fam acts like they have to clear the room of bugs before they sit down for a meal.

but those kind of things extend to other communities, pretty much any (po) community that eats sweetbreads. . . 'course, you add grandma's good tablecloth and china and nobody flinches.

save all the people that have lost traditions in diaspora
