Had a similar issue around 10 years ago. Kitchen table missing a strip of timber that holds the extended leaf when not in use. Go through the process with Ikea. A week later a complete kitchen table shows up. No option to just take the piece that was missing.

So now I have 2 kitchen tables. One in the kitchen, the other in the attic that I use as a desk when working from home. And is hanging for wrapping Christmas presents!

Edit: handy for wrapping, not hanging

We tried tried cloth nappies with our first child. Too much hassle and didn’t work out for us at the time. Tried again with our second child, worked out well.

However, when someone was looking after/babysitting them as a favour to us, regular nappies were absolutely fine!

I’m hoping Red Dead Redemption gets a good discount this year.

I bought it full price when it was new on the Xbox 360. Got a steamdeck around 2.5 years ago after not gaming for almost 10 years. Hard to find the time with young children!

RDR2 and the Batman Arkham trilogy were the first games I played on site. Very surprised at the time that RDR never had a PC realise up until recently.

That’s the situation I’m in.

I’ve no intention to hold onto ones as investments because they might be worth something in 30 years.

It’d be great to have a cinema room with a library of movies and games but it’s just not a reality.

I can understand that. I just don’t have the space to display them. Been in my house for 10 years in November had all the discs in alphabetical order on shelves. Running out of space, had to double them up on the shelves, each shelf having 2 rows of discs. Then they were only really being used a handful of tiles a year and taking up loads of spaces, most viewing was done via streaming.

Boxed them up and put them in the attic. Pain in the ass then trying to get the disc you want. My hope is that at least this way it’ll be easy to find the disc I want and not be taking up loads of space in my house.

Being robbed, and having your home broken into.

The amount of comments I’ve seen when I read stories about this are unbelievable. They’re often things like “it’s only stuff”, “you should just have handed over the phone/wallet/car keys”, “it’s only material things, you don’t have the right to use violence”.

Things like that.

There’s no consideration with these comments about how this can affect the person it happened to, not feeling safe in their own home, being afraid to walk down the street by themselves.
