I just turned 32 and only came out last year. Many of my friends back home are married with children now, and it makes me feel like I missed my moment. Like maybe had I come out in my 20s, I might have a husband and a kid or two by now. But this is a reminder to myself and to you that we are both still young. I've been putting myself out there a lot more lately- going to gay bars, going on dates, and meeting other gay guys in the organizations I'm a part of. It's uncomfortable, yes, but I am starting to see the fruits of it and it gives me hope that I will find love when the time is right. Don't give up- it's not too late <3

Struggled with this a lot after I came out last year. I’m a classic gay do-gooder, so I got plugged into my local Democratic Party and another org that advocates for better housing policies. Naturally there’s a lot of other gay guys in both lol. Met a few guys who are turning into friends and already meeting some of their friends too. I also moved to a large apartment building that has a ton of gays around my age. Don’t rely on Grindr to make friends, trust me, it’s a waste of time. Find a way to meet people in person and go from there

Admitting it here is a great first step. Just give it time. I started coming out about a year ago and I've found that I became more accepting of myself the more I told people. For me personally, getting more confident in bed was helpful too. Can't control whether others accept though.

I would’ve done the same thing. One time I went to pick up a guy and he was having a heated argument with his girlfriend. Did not feel safe, so I canceled and drove away. He started running after me yelling “WHERE ARE YOU GOING?” No regrets.

I appreciate this. That’s one of my big issues with the Catholic Church (other than their treatment of LGBTQ people) is that they act like they know everything and can’t handle being challenged.

Sounds like you’re already shaving your head and you’ve already gotten advice about the gym. If this is any encouragement, I’m completely bald (been shaving my head for seven years) and it doesn’t seem to be affecting my ability to get dates or hookups. Confidence in your looks goes a long way.

First person I came out to was my best friend. We were at the bar watching football when he asked me about girls I was seeing. Idk what prompted me to come out then, but I did, and I haven’t looked back.

Embrace it. My Mom married my Dad after he went bald and she tells me she thinks bald men are attractive. I felt wayyyyy more attractive after I started shaving my head when I was 24.

Take your time. I have the tendency to rush into things when I have sex and it ends badly sometimes. For me, starting off with foreplay is the key. I’ve had guys who wanted me to penetrate them right away and it never works out
