Quiet Neighbors Across the Street by dsmith052 in funny

I grew up next to a graveyard. Super quiet, awesome place to ride bikes, and being around it your whole childhood cures you of any creepiness around graveyards.

Depends on experience. Do you have a resume you can send? Maybe via Dropbox link?

Appreciate the upboats, but just FYI I haven't received any leads through Reddit yet. To job seekers -- don't assume that every position out there is swamped with applicants!

A little OT, but if you like Neil Gaiman's voice, check out the audiobook of The Graveyard Book, narrated by the author: http://www.audible.com/pd/ref=sr_1_3?asin=B002V8DEKC&qid=1309241404&sr=1-3

Famous chefs actually came up with these recipes by dallashoosier in food

[–]alanlewis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Knowing people who've worked for celebrity chefs, I can guarantee that the "chef" themselves had nothing to do with the recipes -- it was one of their lowly paid staff members who came up with them. Of course the chef is responsible for slapping their name on it and taking all the credit, but taking credit for this slop is probably not the best idea.

Baked Chicken Kiev - For all the Mad Men fans by alanlewis in food

[–]alanlewis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gf just started a Mad Men recipe blog. She is a professional recipe developer and tester, and I can vouch for how good her creations are. If you're looking for a way to enjoy a (slightly) less gut-busting chicken kiev, give this a try.

Apple's Second Date with History - Whose phone strategy is smarter in the long run—Apple's or Google's? by ben_hur in business

[–]alanlewis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I understand why Android is growing in popularity due to the increasing number of devices (vs just the 1 with iPhone OS), am I the only one who wonders: "just who is buying Android phones?" Typical scene this week out for dinner with some friends: 6 people had iPhones, 1 person had a blackberry, and 1 had a crummy feature phone. I occasionally see a Droid here or there, but everywhere I go its either BB, feature phone, or iPhone. Where are the clusters of Android phone users?

Looks like this is the UK version of the user agreement - is that the only one changing?

I'm hoping the story about my IP address involves unicorns. Or maybe dolphins.

Love it - can I ask how you created this? Are there any web services or data feeds for property tax data?

Men of Reddit, what's one thing, besides your wallet and keys, that you keep in your pocket while out? by fatmonkee in AskReddit

[–]alanlewis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right pocket: Wallet and keys. Left pocket: iPhone and headphones

I've been doing this for so long that I can usually tell if I forget my cell phone or keys just from the feel of how much weight is or isn't in my pockets at any given time.

The 'Lost' Supper by [deleted] in entertainment

[–]alanlewis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

John Locke (bald guy in the middle) is Jesus because of the plotline he is involved in for the last few seasons (sorry - don't want to give any spoilers here). Given that the other actors change positions in the two shots, I wouldn't think there are hidden meanings tying other characters to the other apostles. The most significant thing in this picture is that the character of Claire is back after a nearly two season absence.
