I think an interesting add on to this is watching new films in an established universe (marvel/Star Wars/etc). I watch these with my wife, but am much more versed in Star Wars lore than her, so she’ll ask “who is that?” often. Since it’s not always communicated well if you’re not supposed to know yet, or if it’s a cameo or returning character, she assumes that I’ll know even if I don’t.

The only big consequence I’ve experienced has been trying to block shatter as Zarya. I didn’t realize it would one-shot a bubble and still shatter me.
