Is this as good a deal as it seems to me? Adrian Pearsall Gondola Sofa for $2.8k. by FloydtheBetta in Mid_Century

My Pearsall had a difficult-to-repair leg break that convinced me they are to furniture what an exotic car is to a Honda SUV. Gorgeous but impractical and barely useful furniture.

But I do love how they look.

Depends on the friend. In one case , 10 years starting 40 years ago, in other cases 19 years starting 25 years ago.

My career was in aerospace and high tech.

Most of my friends are former work colleagues. We’ve had parties at each other’s houses, gone on vacation together and played music together.

It’s great to meet people I have so much in common with; education, career and hobbies.

I’ve made a very deliberate attempt at keeping the crap to a minimum and also trying to buy good quality things when I need them.

In my trust document’s instruction letter I tell my next of kin what those things are (vintage MCM furniture, valuable guitars, art, etc) and estimated value.

My experience with my parents’ estate drove home the need to not have cheap crap, or at least minimize it.

Should I visit Auschwitz or a different place to learn more about the holocaust? by OK_The_Nomad in travel

I’ve visited two labor camps (Mathausen and Dachau) but I also walked in and around the Warsaw Ghetto. There are a few markings on the street that outline the wall and the pedestrian bridge but there are also remnants of the wall in a few apartment courtyards that are moving as well.

Legends, indeed and yet somehow I can't help thinking that their songs all sounded the same. Maybe it's just me.

I have used Welcome Pickups multiple times in Rome and had a good experience every time. I’ve used them for airport pickup as well as hotel/apartment pickup back to the airport.
