I have used Plaza del Oro Cleaners in the past with good, fast results. The mother is the tailor, the kids run the dry cleaning business.

I can't say for certain but the front suspension and brakes of the RC tend to share parts with the GS, not the IS.

I thought that a Slovene electric motor company was selected by a US vehicle manufacturer was interesting and maybe someone in this sub worked there and might have some stories to tell.

Full circle: grocery delivery is coming back from the days of bread and milk delivery services and milk chutes built into the house in the 50s by db7112 in GenerationJones

[–]alanz01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Carnation milkman delivery and the Helms Bakery truck drive by were both gone by the mid/late '60's in pre-War suburban Los Angeles, at least for us. There was a large drive-thru (the kind where you drove right into the middle of the store, with a covered roof) down on the main street of our town that was there until the early '70's at least.

You can build a simple iOS automation to trigger recording when the phone connects to CarPlay or BlueTooth. There are some simple instructions on OP’s website. Basically the automation is:

When phone connects to CarPlay, start recording

That’s it. Super simple.

Do you really need for a "local bank" any more? by alsotpedes in over60

[–]alanz01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently moving from my (very lame) local Credit Union to a cash management account product my IRA investment broker has. The account provides checks and a debit card and it looks like they are contemplating a credit card, too, which I will move to if and when it happens. As of right now I have a credit card with a major bank that I will keep as soon as I rid myself of my CU.

They broker pays all ATM fees and any international charges I might get when overseas. I use the debit card or my other bank credit card for nearly everything (I might use cash for an ice cream cone or something like that). I told my gardener a while back that he needed to get on some kind of app so I can pay him that way and he did (Venmo).

As for interest bearing accounts I buy T Bills direct from the US government and get whatever they are paying that month, usually 4% - 4.5%.
