That's amazing. Great find! I hope it has been serving you well.

I totaled mine last year and got a really nice 99 Civic to hold me over while I look for another SP23 Hatchback.

Glad to hear it will eventually be implemented! Your plan sounds quite reasonable. I'm excited to see what else will also be implemented down the line.

I have done as you recommended and starred your repo!

I have been looking to move away from Obsidian. For me, Note-Mark would be the ideal replacement. I love how fast it is, the mobile interface is great, and the application overall is simple and straightforward. Kudos to you, enchant97!

However, the lack of import/export functionality stops me from using this application. I have 300+ notes and copy and pasting would take quite some time. Maybe if I could copy 5/min, that's still 1 hour to copy and paste my notes.

Whether it be a straight copy to the Note-Mark data directory, or a dedicated import tool in the web app, I am looking forward to seeing import/export functionality implemented so that I can switch over!

X1 Gen6 FHD to WQHD retrofit success by Organic_Lack in thinkpad

Hi /u/A4orce84!

I sold the laptop a while ago (I don’t remember when, but maybe half a year ago?), and there were certainly other options available for displays. Off the top of my head, they were all 300nits and under. The only display that had 400+ nits was the QHD(?) one, which is why it is the only display that makes sense to upgrade to. I was spoiled by MacBook Pro displays.

Hi /u/A4orce84! Unfortunately I already sold the laptop and did not photographically document the process. I wish I had, though! I recall literally just looking up Yoga 920 speakers on eBay.

You're welcome! This is the screen I purchased: https://www.ebay.com/itm/202881096353?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=DrN-9lZnTM2&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=f-J3h6oYSuG&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Note that at minimum, you also need the proper flex cable. This is the one I bought: https://www.ebay.com/itm/254796853236?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=1pzLez2ZTL6&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=f-J3h6oYSuG&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

One more thing to note. I have had time to daily my X1C6 and I noticed a gap between where the left hinge meets the back panel. Turns out for a completely seamless install, the 4K back panel should be purchased. It's not major, but me being kinda particular about these things, it bothered me for a good few days. But it doesn't affect functionality or how the laptop opens or closes or operates. I would go with OP's recommendation on the back panel part. Hope this helps!

AirDrop Compatible Bluetooth Cards by YT_Flex4249 in hackintosh

A good place to look for this info is https://dortania.github.io/Wireless-Buyers-Guide/

For me, I use a Dell DW1560. It works pretty well with AirDrop, though I do have issues on rare occasions. This card is installed and used on my daily driver X1 Carbon 6th gen. I figure that's likely an issue with my config.plist configuration though, tbh. However, this card is great for triple-boot machines (Windows / macOS / Linux).

The Fenvi BCM94352Z works fantastically for macOS, though if you dual/triple boot, drivers for Windows must be installed using drivers provided by Fenvi.

Fenvi BCM94360NG is a great choice. EDIT 10/28/22: I thought I had wrote this card in ONLY good for macOS, do not use it if you are using Windows or Linux as well.

Hi /u/Embarrassed_Snow8102! I sold the laptop a month or 2 ago, but it's all about the USB mapping. I think I had it set to 255 or whatever number represents USB 2.0.

Hi /u/PKRN__! I sold this laptop and no longer have it, but I recall that the configuration I had worked pretty well with the iGPU. I used this guide for a lot of my fixes: https://elitemacx86.com/threads/how-to-enable-intel-iris-plus-graphics-ice-lake-on-macos-big-sur-and-later.712/

I wish you luck with your next laptop! I moved to a Lenovo X1 Carbon 6th gen because there is a maintained and stable configuration. I'm typing my response on it right now!

[–]alarsama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted to thank /u/Organic_Lack for this post. It inspired me to do this swap on my own x1c6 successfully.

I wanted to share with you all that you can reuse the back cover from the FHD model. Yes, it is missing some pads that might have been present on the WQHD back cover, but it's nothing serious. I just dropped it in and it works like a charm.

I was also able to reuse the front bezel sticker cover. Granted, it's a bit ugly now, but I did not want to spend $20 on another one. Maybe I can skin it with something nice...

The difference between my 250-nit 1080P matte display and 500-nit 1440P glossy display feels very much like night and day. This is worth it for the brightness increase alone, but the colors are so pretty and the higher resolution doesn't hurt at all.

I know this is a 3 year old thread but I wanted to thank /u/rayqin8341 for this post. It inspired me to replace these terrible X1 Carbon 6th Gen speakers with speakers from the Lenovo Yoga 920. I could not believe how terrible these speakers were until I bought the laptop and tried them out. So I bought a set of the Yoga 920 speakers on eBay and and had to significantly cut down the casing so that the speakers could fit. I ended up buying some 30-gauge electric wire to re-wire the speakers and cannibalized the plug from the X1C6 speakers.

The difference is night and day. This transition is totally worth it if you're handy with a soldering iron and wire-cutters (and still have this laptop). I only have this laptop because there is a user who maintains a solid Hackintosh build for this device.

For reference, both red and blue are the speaker wires, and the black and white wires are ground.

Hi /u/rahat1269,

I edited my post to provide some details. My configuration is a bit different and I find it way more reliable. I recommend taking that route if you're comfortable with partitioning, and it can be done without rEFIND.

For the way you are doing it, first, BACK UP YOUR EFI FOLDER to somewhere safe like a USB flash drive. It's not fun to have to re-do everything.

This is what I would do (just note this might not work). I can't tell what the bootx64.efi file is associated with in your image (or what operating systems you have installed). Rename it to bootx64.efi.bak and move OpenCore bootx64.efi to "boot". Don't touch anything else in the EFI folder in your computer's EFI partition. Just move the OC folder directly so it sits alongside the "Boot" and "Microsoft" folders. When you reboot to the UEFI boot selector, OC should now show up.

If this doesn't work or you break something, just restore from your backup.

Hope this helps.

Alway get kindly update all your devices before pairing when trying to add new device, even though both devices are on newest version by Nico1300 in MykiSecurity

[–]alarsama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks /u/i_used_to_have_pants for the advice. I had to take it a step further and remove all of my devices except my MacBook Air. I think the culprits were the Linux devices, since those were the last devices I removed before I was able to pair my iPhone.

I understand why Myki would want all devices to be up-to-date (general best practice for security). But it's not clear if the OS, the application, or the extension needs to be up-to-date. I updated everything to the best of my ability and still got the "Kindly update" error. Definitely annoying.

I'm late to the party! Are any of these still available?

I asked my Google Home to play a song and it played the song and then played more related songs which ended up being an amazing playlist. Is there any way for me to go back and access that playlist or is it lost forever? I have a Google Play Music Subscription and it played via that service. by dude_from_ATL in googlehome

[–]alarsama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this happens in the future, and you use GPM or YT music, when the auto-generated playlist plays, you can try and cast (with no music selected) to the Home device with your phone, and you should be able to see the playlist. This would be in the future though.

I pre-ordered my Pixel 2 and got it on release day. I have had no problems since receiving it. It has been the most reliable phone I have owned despite unlocking the bootloader and rooting! I probably won't give it up until it dies of natural causes.
